Senator Clinton will do anything to win and will change nothing once she does.

DNC:  Please stop the Clinton Sleaze Campaign Against Barack Obama

Target:
Voting Democrats
Sponsored by:
Dear Mr. Dean:

I respectfully but forcefully ask that you request of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and her surrogates to stop running this smear campaign against Barack Obama. Her behavior as exhibited in myriad repeated distortions of the facts, incidents of voter suppression, voter intimidation, and the telling of of lies is polarizing the democratic party and is compromising the integrity of the Democratic process. If she wins the primary through trickery, I and many thousands of others across all 50 states may consider a boycott of the general election or voting for another party's candidate.  We would like her and her surrogates to publicly apologize to the DNC and to Barack Obama for reducing this race to mudslinging and to disavow the politics of division that she has been engaging in.

Thank you.

Everyone should read "The Truth About Hillary" by Edward Klein. Covers "What she knew, When she knew it, and How far Shee'll Go to Become President. A real eyeopener and reminder of what the 8 Clinton years were really like and what the 35 years she keeps touting was really like. Quite a contrast from "The Audacity of Hope".

The Democratic party cannot afford to see an entire generation of young Americans alienated by these tactics. The more this behavior is tolerated, the more young Americans will be driven away from the process. If Sen. Clinton is nominated, I refuse to reward her deplorable conduct with my vote -- even if I must vote against my own beliefs as a liberal. I value honesty and integrity over partisanship or ideology.

I was one who voted for Bill Clinton twice for president. Back then I was younger, not politically savvy, ill informed and ignorant of the candidates backgrounds. Today, there is no excuse for not being able to inform yourself about any of the candidates, thanks to the internet. If I had known then, what I know now about the Clinton's I never would have voted for him. Character does count, along with honesty, morales and integrity. Unfortunately, neither of the Clinton's have those traits. Their win at all costs tactics are insulting to anyone with an ounce of intelligence. Hillary already had her chance to make universal health care a reality during her husband's 2 terms as president. That was her only job, and she couldn't even make that a success. How can you expect her to now be president with all the nations tasks in her hands: the economy, wars, foreign polices, national debt and universal health care, and handle these major issues successfully, when she couldn't even work on one important task when she had 8 years to do it.

I agree with the spirit of this petition and sincerely hope that it can bring about a CHANGE! I am thoroughly disgusted with the Clinton's behavior and I want them to know - loud and clear - that, even if for some reason Hilary gets the nomination, I will not vote for her. As sad as I would be to vote for a Republican (after all my years as a "bleeding-heart liberal" Democrat) I would rather do so than support someone who shows a complete lack of character and feels the need to resort to outright lies and half-truths in order to make herself "sound" better. Apparently, THAT must be what she has "35 years experience" in!

I support Barack Obama, and I support the Democratic Party. But if Hillary Clinton is the nominee, with the tactics she has used in this campaign, I will vote Republican or Independent. This is really disgusting, and an insult to America and the Democratic Party. If it works, it will demoralize the party, and lead to more partisan bickering, which will not give the country the change we so desparately need. Please consider this message, as I doubt she can pull the party back together after this.

I am sick of this. I have seen your interviews Mr. Dean and you say all you care about is winning in Nov. If this is true then tell Bill and Hillary to stop the smear campaign!! I am 30 years old and have never voted anything but Democrat. I am prepared ( if Hillary is nominated) to vote Republican because of her and former presidents Clintons behavior on the trail. If the DNC will not condem this then I will not give my vote to you. I will not only vote for a republican, I will do everything I can to make sure Hillary is not elected! ABH Anybody but Hillary what a republican slogan!! Stop this now!!!!!!

NO! I disagree!! Let er rip! Let the mud slinging continue! We need to see people for who they REALLY are and not take the 'cover up' approach. I'm glad to see them slinging mud. It only gives creedence to what I always sensed in my gut about Mr. and Mrs. Clinton from the very FIRST TIME I laid eyes on them--especially him, which was, "there's something TERRIBLY TERRIBLY WRONG here and I can't STAND to even look at him". My 'gut' was right. It hasn't changed either! God Help America!

It breaks my heart to see this type of behavior WITHIN our own party. It is unethical, and as a woman, an embarrassment to my gender. The reverberation from her behavior will be lasting and carry over onto the next female candidate that wishes to run for an office. The office of President and the campaign surrounding the race should reflect dignity.

Hilary Clinton, your tactics are repulsive and totally a put-off. Barack Obama is very trustworthy and l believe in him and when you lie about his record, it put me off completely from America politics. So, please you and your husband Bill should stop lying and cheating to get back to the white house. l love America and we want America back to the world in a better light and this is only possible through Barack Obama. l love you Barack!!!!

In full disclosure I am a Republican however, I am in full support of Senator Obama. If your party does not settle the Clinton's I shall NEVER consider supporting another Democrat for any reason! This is the first time I have ever contributed to a presidential candadate and the first time I have felt that one of your candadates would cross party lines. Please do not let the Clinton's destroy a chance for this country to truly come together again.

Two days ago I sent an email to Gov. Dean expressing my opinions about what I saw was happening. I applaud you and join you in your efforts. This election is about removing polarization and as I heard someone say it is a battle for integrity and the heart and soul of the democratic party.

I have always liked Bill Clinton and had great respect for Hillary. However, After this week, I don't think I could ever vote for her if she were nominated. I would possibly vote for John McCain, and I have never voted for a Republican in my life!

I used to think Hillary was okay, but certainly never felt any passion for her, or anything the Clintons did. Now however, I do have a solid opinion about both Clintons: They are an embarrassment and shame to the Democratic party. We're a DEMOCRACY, not a nation of dueling dynasties! No matter who is on the ticket this November, my vote will not be for another Clinton. That should be telling because I lean far to the left on most issues. The Clintons' recent baseless attacks, or rather, LIES to be more specific, leave me feeling sick and almost ashamed I didn't see what so many had already seen before -- and that's they'll do whatever in their power necessary to assure another Clinton ascends the White House throne this fall. I'll vote for JOHN McCAIN before another Clinton should it come down to that. Hopefully the truth will shine through the lies of both Clintons AND the media, and the truth prevails. 35 years of experience? Please.

While it is understood that the Clinton campaign is participating in tactics that not illegal or new to the political field, it can be said at a time so crucial in our political progress it is distracting and muddying the campaign trail. Bill Clinton has been by far too active in his wife's campaign by most Democrat's standards, but he did have a point when he said the press is augmenting the distraction and it is not what the 'people' care about. Clinton is fueling this fire, and Mr. Obama is responding, and the DNP should keep them both in check if they want to produce a candidate that stands a chance on the national landscape. The party will no doubt pledge for the delegate they see as the most likely to perform well in November, and to assume it's Hillary Clinton would be a mistake. She has little or no chance of swaying G.O.P voters even if they end up with a weak candidate. However, Mr. Obama has already proved he could inspire youths, independents, and reluctant voters that would otherwise not vote at all. I myself finally registered as a Democrat (having voted 3rd party in the past) so I could specifically be a part of my state's primary. If the DNC truly wants to see which candidate is the most promising as a Presidential hopeful, they might want to consider an ethical revision of Mrs. Clinton & her husband's tactics for the good of the party.

This is another voice to complain about the sleaze campaign by the Clintons. It is alright to keep it on policy and disagreements, but to smear (swift boat) another fellow democratic party candidate is beyond the expectation and I (with my friends) will stay home and let the Republicans win again if this is the order of the day.

If the people really want change they have a chance to vote it in with a vote for Obama. With Hillary, it will just be status quo.

I was pleased to see that Senator Obama stood up for himself at the South Carolina debate. Senator Clinton has not shown her professionalism throughout the past two debates. She needs to know how ridiculous she looks when she shows the public that side of herself. It's not very becoming. I enjoy watching Senator Obama show the "class" he has to both his opponents. Obama is not in this race to be vindictive, but to prove the point that "he" is here on this planet to show how we can have a positive reality that will change history to something that is good for the people in our country.

Actually I'm sick and tired of the whole process, why do politicans always resort to mudslinnging, namecalling, etc? I think America needs to get rid of all Congressman, Senators, and on up and start over all again, get real people and decent people, who aren't scared to tell it like it is and needs to be! The whole process is now so corupt it makes no difference who I really vote for, cause it won't matter, seems to be already decided.

It horrible that an X President be allowed to stander another Candidate running for the office that he once held. The American people should not allow this to happen. I will turn my vote to the Republican side if something is not done to stop this.

Stop the maddness. Bill and Hillary's antics are causing die-hard democrats like myself to conclude that we will vote for either McCain or Romney over Hillary in the fall. She will lose the general election and tear down the one candidate that has a chance at uniting a new Democratic majority.

I have already made the personal, agonizing decision, that should Clinton win the party's nomination, I will not vote in my first general election since I was 18 years old. I cannot vote for a Republican, and I will not vote for Clnton, as she is no better that Bush.

Howard Dean, I read that you want to remain neutral. Something FDR said to the minister of Stockholm bears repeating here: "...there are circumstances where neutrality so-called actually helps an aggressor nation and is, therefore, not neutrality in fact." What is the DNC's responsibility if not to insure that our party conducts itself properly and respects the primary process? How can you remain "neutral" when the Clinton campaign gives handbooks to their precinct captains in Nevada that encourages violation of the rules of that state's caucus. If the Democratic National Committee cannot serve its constituents any better than this, then perhaps those of us who receive requests for financial support will just say we're going to remain "neutral."

I will definitely vote for the opposing candidate if Billary becomes the Democratic candidate. If it's Mitt Romney I will just have to hope a decent independent gets involved or maybe leave the country. I will definitely not vote for Hillary after this mess she's made. When a woman becomes president I want her to do it on the highest and best qualifications and actions.

I hope this will have some impact on stopping the use of gross distortions on the part of Bill and Hillary Clinton in their fight to win the nomination. Do they not realize that everyone in the country and the world read them and see them for what they are? Does Hillary think she could ever win the general election or govern if by some chance she did with a history of lies and distortions in her wake?

I am disappointed but not surprised by the Clintons during this campaign. It really bothers me that they are so vicious. It is causing the campaign to get side tracked from the important issues that both candidates actually agree on. I had never had gone to the caucus before, but I did this year because I really believe in Barack. To see and hear the Clintons though, I am reminded of why I have avoided politics and usually don't listen to any of it. Stop it before we are all cynical again.
