Do not ban smoking in Michigan's restaurants or bars

Target:
Smokers & Non-Smokers Who Don't Think Is a Choice for Government
It is not up to our government to determine when & where people can
smoke.  The decision whether or not to ban smoking should be the choice of the establishment.  This is not the government's decision to make!

They should let the voters decide or at least let the business owner make the choice to go smoke free.

It is necessary to determine where people can smoke and where not to. This is because it found that it is not allowed to smoke near schools, hospitals and other recommended places. Nowadays healthy people are more affected being passive smokers. In other wards it is recommendable to ban smoking in order to keep fit and also to avoid pollution.

Non smokers have many places to go. I will no longer go home to Michigan to visit as I feel they have joined the "we know what's best for you" coalition. Next they will tell us how many eggs we can eat due to cholesterol. If they want this to be a law, then let the people vote on it! Oh, they won't do that, it would never pass.

In South Africa you can rape, steal, murder, hijack, as long as you don't smoke. How petty this anti smoke campaign has become.

I believe the smoking ban will further hurt the already crumbling economy of not just Michigan but of Detroit in particular. I find smoking bans to fine in nice climate areas where you can easily go outside at antime to have a ciggarette, but asking people to go outside to smoke in the middle of January in Michigan is ubsurd!! The argument of smokers infringing on non smokers rights to be heathly is ridiculous as well! If we cant infrigne on your rights, then you can't infringe on ours!

It amuses me that the same people going on and on about not wanting smoking allowed will turn around and wash their children with a certain popular baby shampoo(dont think I can actually say the name)...hello, do you know whats in that stuff?? Quaternium 15 is an ingredient and also happens to be a formaldehyde releaser. These same people will also bring products into their home for their families to use that contain DEA,Talc,Fluoride and Saccharin(just to name a few). Can any of the non-smoking cry babies tell me what these all have in common??? They are cancer causing agents and they with a long list of other poisons are in a good deal of the products you bring into the house every day for your families to use.If someone chooses to not smoke..hey good for them,I dont bash them for their choice. I expect the same in return. I smoke, it's my choice and I pay for it,along with higher life ins. premiums because of it. Someone want to tell me why smokers are being singled out??? How is smoking in a bar or restaurant more offensive then a loud mouth rude customer?? How is it worse than a drunk staggering and sluring their words, then choosing to drive and placing everyone on the road at risk??? Let the decision about smoking in public places be left to the owners of the establishments. Our current state government has done quite enough to screw up the state already,I doubt that placing a ban on smoking will boost the economy....if anything it will hurt it more.

AH HAH, so that is what it boils down to... ban the smokers from having a good time so that the non smokers can stay at the bar longer to get drunker, THEN to go out driving to kill school children. You holier than thou nonsmoking liberal RETARDS who never served a day in uniform EARNING their RIGHTS as smokers want to turn this place into a communist state. I have one question for you; what is the difference between a communist and a democrat? Answer: The spelling! Take it from a smoker who spends THOUSANDS of dollars every year in restaurants what is going to happen to the states economy. What new liberal laws are they going to pass to protect your liberal cowering in fear of the agitated smoker who snaps and goes postal. Cigarettes ARE HOMICIDE SUPPRESSION INHALERS! Don't mess with my medicine that keeps people like you alive! (just a figure of speech... kinda) :-) SMOKING is a RIGHT! Not a privilege like... say driving. Leave us smokers alone, second hand smoke STILL HAS NOT BEEN PROVEN, or has any one else noticed that smoking rates have gone WAY down over the past few decades yet still cancer rates have INCREASED, smoking is NOT to blame, we need to look at other possible causes like maybe PLASTIC, you laugh, but look at what usage has been on the rise since smoking rates have declined. We have known for about a hundred years that oil causes cancer. Look at what most of our daily dining ware is; both regular and disposable (fast food, junk food) have you ever noticed that when you pour cola into a plastic cup that there is an oily film floating at the top, THAT IS CANCER CAUSING OIL, NOT tobacco! Or that when you peel back the cellophane wrapper off you Twinkie that your fingers will feel oily and it is not from the cake, it is from the wrapper. So before everyone starts to bandwagon, part of the herd, sheep like lifestyle that America has sadly gone to, please look elsewhere before attacking the homicide suppression inhaler (that by the way, I think Blue-Cross should pay for, since they do it for asthmatics) that so many of us NEED. I don't know a single smoker who wants to quit! Why is it the assumption of liberal RETARDS that all smokers want to quit, I am not a quitter. I smoke so that you nonsmoking tree hugging liberals shall live. I spent 8 years in the United States Marine Corps and when it came time for our annual physical fitness test ALL of the nonsmokers (the very few that there were) would poke fun, prod, and insult me, but then the starter pistol would go off and as I was passing their coughing wheezing slow as hell "healthy" ready to fall down and die asses I would inform them that perhaps they too should start smoking so that they could at least try to match my class 1 physical fitness score. Smoking may be killing me; however it keeps others alive. If second hand smoke was ANYWHERE near half as bad as the bulls**t liberal tree huggers try to make it out as; smokers would take one hit of their first cigarette and then they would fall down and die before they could exhale. Nonsmokers go sell your s**t down the river to some ignorant 6 year old who does not know any better and is gullible enough to buy what you're selling. SMOKING DOES NOT KILL! NONSMOKERS WHO TRY TO IMPOSE ON MY EARNED RIGHTS AS AN AMERICAN CAUSE THOSE DEATHS BY RAISING THE BLOOD PRESSURE AND AGGRAVATION OF THE SMOKER.

I agree this should be the right of the establishment to do as they please. Come on folks, this is a capitalistic society. If the people who visit the establishments who allow smoking do like it, they won't return and the establishment will have to change themselves or go out of business. So lawmakers - stay out of our business!

A person has the right to smoke if they please. If someone doesn't like it, then they don't have to sit or stand by them.

I live in Florida where there is a ban similar one like this. Which is why I don't spend my money in establishments where smoking is prohibited. This would hurt many businesses and is not fair to me as an American citizen. It should be up to the individual business owner to make this decision. I know many people who disagree with this law. It is ridiculous in a "free" country!

Next when you go to the grocery store and use your store card...the government will keep track of how much meat you are eating...then they will cut it off for your health. Let the establishment decide about the smoking.

The government should not have the right to decide what a business should or should not do. The government needs to worry about more important things, like the price of gas. I feel that the government has overstepped their responsibilities on a lot of issues. For God's sake, I thought this was America???!!! You remember, land of the free...that has become very costly.

If you want to ban smoking in public places, then you should ban all things that cause health problems like the smoke from factory smoketacks, Crematoriums (who by law have to cremate AIDS victims--where does THAT smoke go, and how harmful is it?). Also, you will need to ban perfumes that people are allergic to, toys imported from China, suicide causing prescriptions, and many other things that cause health problems. And let's not forget those all important cell phones, that can cause hearing problems!

Government should not be able to mandate such a things as smoking bans in privately-owned businesses. That should be the decision of the business owner!
