Do not execute Larry Swearingen

Do not execute Larry Swearingen

Target:
The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles and Governor Rick Perry
We the undersigned are writing and signing this petition on behalf of death row prisoner Larry Swearingen, #999361, Polunsky Unit, TX.  Larry is scheduled to be executed on January 27, 2009 for a murder he did not commit. He was in Jail while the murder in this case occured and the DNA (blood and hairs) excluded him as the biological donor. He was in no position to have committed this crime.

Evidence was withheld from medical examiner and the jury; leading the medical examiner at the time of trial to a wrong time of victim's death that erred in the jury coming to a death sentence. The medical examiner reviewed the case in 2007 and reversed her opinion on the date of death, with now four forensic pathologists independently reaching the s ame conclusion - that the victim got killed and her body dumped in the woods while Larry Swearingen was in jail on unrelated charges.

We ask that you please stop the scheduled execution of Larry Swearingen based on these facts as far as Texas law allows, and urge a reopening of the investigation, as there is other evidence that points unambiguously to actual innocence. Please show clemency to a father of five kids who is NOT guilty of the crime he was convicted of, and save him from death.

We thank you very much for your time and attention to this very important matter!

Do not execute a man solely because you can. You have evidence to prove his innocence, use OUR taxpayer money to find the real killer.

I fully realize that there are always two sides to every story, and I have not yet heard/read the prosecutions' side of the story. However, going by the facts provided on Larry's behalf, I most gladly sign this petition. And, I gladly shout it from the highest of rooftops: DO NOT EXECUTE LARRY!!!

No matter what your opinion of the death penalty, even if you agree with it, then one must realize there will be mistakes. Larry Swearingen is one of these 'mistakes'. The evidence of his innocence is overwhelming, please, please at least examine the forensic evidence. Listen and research as much as he has - this is someones LIFE. The most precious thing we have on earth. One life has already been lost, I beg you not to make the count go to 2 unnecessarily.

Larry Swearingen should not be executed for this crime. There is too much evidence to say that he commited the crime.

This is an ongoing problem. I am sorry but juries will convict on the crime and not the evidence. This has been proven over and over again. The judicial system is broken and needs to be fixed. We are putting people in prison just to get a conviction not to solve crimes.

I think it is a dishonour to the victim to not attempt justice to find the perpretrators of the crime. Wrongful death must not leave any stone unturned in the quest for justice and when the judicial system makes a mistake, this must be corrected for the " real " killers remain free at large and able to continue this injustice against our minds, bodies and conscience.

Why do we kill people who are accused and many times wrongfully of killing people, to show people that killing is wrong? American is supposed to be a civilized nation, yet we are the only developed country who still executes our prisoners. Two wrongs don't make a right, and it needs to end.

The truth must be told, the WHOLE TRUTH! Larry has the right for a new trial or better yet set him free due to the DNA evidence.

It amazing how our human rights are violated by the US system. I thought that this country was one where each one of us had the opportunity to defend our rights...giving that facts. Seeing how so many innocente people have lost their lives inside the prison system is truly a disgrace. We need to stop and really look at the facts, evidence & DNA not go by just eye witness. Please lets STOP the injustice.
