Happy dogs are allowed to run crazy happy circles, or chase a ball or frisbee, playing with their human companions. Many yards in AB are not conducive to these activities, and I think it would be great for everyone to have a place to let their pets off leash for a bit, on a regular basis. Plus a lot of dogs crave the social interaction. Dog parks are places where owners go with their pets, and I see no valid reason why anyone could reasonably object to a dog area being carved out of one of our existing park space, especially since some of the parks are deserted most of the time!

Jax beach dog park is just to far with traffic and gas now, you sometimes are in the car more then at the park for an hour. I have a lab who is full of energy and needs a dog park to run around.

I support the doggie park. 100%. With our dog catcher catching on the soccer field, hawking the beaches for miscreants, stalking people on the beach with dogs on leash, we need a place to play. I support a doggie field. Don't know where but please do it. Jax Beach is almost $4.00 in gas away.

I don't understand why there is no dog park in Atlantic Beach??? There is one in Ponte Vedra Beach, Jacksonville Beach, Mandarin, Southside (Dogwood,) and with gas prices the way they are, it's just too far to go. After all, if the city can afford to pay for a sculpture, thousands of dollares, then why can't they put up a chain link fence, and a water spicket for our dogs to have some unleashed fun?????

Atlantic Beach is a great little town, filled with lots of dog lovers. A dog park would give dogs a chance to play with other dogs and a break from the leash.

Large chain store Businesses, though they dont advertise it, will give you items to auction or award as prizes. Think Wal-mart and Publix here.
What, did I say a naughty word? I would think Wal-mart would pay for the entire park if you named it after Sam Walton's dog. And that is before they build their store. Why? They need advance good P.R. and Atlantic Beach needs the sales tax revenue. What Jax gets it all? Well, lets get another petition up for keeping Atlantic Beach portion of sales tax returned to Atlantic Beach, especially if there is a Walmart generating 1/4-1/2 million in sales tax a yr. Yes, he had a couple of dogs he dearly loved and drove around with in his truck. Some were used for, well, lets just say, some were used to track dinner before there were stores.

Dog parks are the best way for dogs to have real fun! When they are on a leash, they feel they must protect their owner, so walking on a leash is actually work for a dog, even tho they enjoy the sniffing...If you have ever noticed that when they are allowed to run with their own kind, they are so joyful, and full of energy and just loving life. THATS why they need a place to just be dogs!!!!
