SAY NO TO CAT CALL

By signing this petition you are firmly stating that you and your family will not adopt from or donate to Cat Call INC nor will you shop at any pet stores that they may be affiliated with because you know about Bailey Mack's plight.  You are stating that your signature means you want to stop this from ever happening to another animal again.

In case the story of Bailey Mack is not familiar to you let me take this chance to tell you about it.  Bailey Mack is an orange tabby kitten who was up for adoption by a non profit organization called "Cat Call INC." This organization was adopting kittens out of a pet store located in Wesley Chapel, Florida.  Cat Call failed to notice that Bailey Mack was sick with Ringworm and so they adopted him out with the contagious disease.  Bailey Mack's illness was not known to the unsuspecting adopting family either. When the family got Bailey Mack home that was when they noticed that the kitten's head was covered with the Ringworm fungus.   the adopting family immediatley called both Cat Call to make them aware of the problem and to see if they could get Bailey Mack some veterinary care.  Professional veterinary care was not offered by Cat Call.  In fact this non profit rescue organization downplayed the seriousness of Ringworm.  Cat Call told the adopting family to relax because it would go away on its own in four months.  Bailey Mack's family was appaulled as this suggestion meant Bailey Mack should just suffer it out.

This irresponsible response made by Cat Call prompted Bailey Mack's new family to get him to the vet so he did not get worse rather than wait on a solution from Cat Call.  The family did not want to wait to see if Cat Call  would ever take full responsibility for Bailey Mack (which up to this date Cat Call has not taken full responsibility and have made it clear they have no intention on doing so).  In fact Cat Call has an attorney volunteering for them. This attorney, Jeanine Cohen, is contacting the adopting family's employer and trying to stir up trouble for the new adopting family simply because of this petition.  Calling an employer of an adopting family  clearly crosses the line and clearly proves that Cat Call is not a very honorable organization.  Cat Call clearly doesn't want anyone to know that this is the way they conduct their organization's business.  Also, please note Cat Call is not BBB accredited either.  Always check on an organizations credibility by asking for an annual report before donating.  This will allow you to see where the charity is spending its money.  PAPSAC has been unable to locate an annual report for Cat Call yet.

For two months Bailey Mack and his new family had to go through a horrible ordeal.  Bailey Mack had to be quarentined, shaved, shampooed, medicated with topical ointments twice daily, and medicated orally once daily.  The family suffered emotionally while Bailey Mack suffered emotionally and physically.  Bailey Mack cried out loud for months while scratching, biting, and rubbing himself on anything to make the pain stop. His skin was raw and bleeding at times.  He had to have spores and scabs picked off of him and he was just three months old.  This is just heartbreaking.  No kitten deserves to be abandoned by an organization  that claims to have a strong love of cats.  How can they love any animal and then turn around and act as if the above story is not their problem?  Remember Bailey Mack was sick before he got to his new family.  Cat Call  failed him.  It was a blessing that Bailey Mack got such a good home with such a loving family.  He is 100% better now thanks to his loving adopted family. No thanks to Cat Call.

As You are aware of all that has been said and done in regards to Bailey mack and due to Cat Call's decisions to not properly handle the situation we ask that you refuse to give Cat Call any more of your money and we ask that you refuse to adopt from them until an apology is made by Cat Call to the adopting family. We would like you to promise to abandon Cat Call  just as they abandoned Bailey Mack.  We would also like you to let others know of Bailey Mack's story.  We can make a difference on how animals are treated in the industry and how adoption orgainzations care for their animals by signing this petition. We are PAPSAC....People Against Pet Store Animal Cruelty....check us out online at www.myspace.com/papsac or email us at contactpapsac@yahoo.com.

We the undersigned agree that we will not adopt from or donate to Cat Call INC since being made aware of the kitten, Bailey Mack's plight. We ask that all animals that will be adopted out by Cat Call INC  have had a full check up by a licensed veternarian and are certified healthy before adoption.  If a problem should arise where an animal is sick before he is adopted out (such as Bailey Mack's case) then Cat Call should be responsible for all of the vet fees incurred by the new adopting family and a refund should be issued if the cat has to be returned. We also ask that Cat Call takes full responsibility and apologizes to the adopting family for the suffering they caused Bailey Mack and his new loving family. Then and only then might we reconsider our position.

Thank you for taking time to understand how stongly we feel about this situation.
