Dr. George Washington Carver National Holiday (Green Pioneers Day)

On January 5, 1943 Americans lost the greatest scientist of our century, Dr. George Washington Carver.

Known for saving southern agriculture during a collapsing economy he is the first Non-President to have his birthplace named a national monument.

His innovations in science contributed much to the agricultural industry worldwide and built the platform for agro-industrial expansion in the early 1900s.

Dr. Carver's humanitarianism and breakthroughs against racial injustice proves he was a trail blazer and his ability to secure a teaching position under overwhelming segregation speaks to the historic change in America for racial equality.

Your signature joins public support for a National Holiday in his honor.

Thank you
