Ebay Buyers Concerned Re: Feedback Changes

Target:
Ebay Management
We as buyers are concerned with the planned changes to not allow sellers to leave feedback other than positive. We believe that this policy will:

1) Create a hostile environment for buyers and sellers
2) Create an environment that many good honest and established sellers will leave due to their inability to properly defend themselves against
      a) buyers that defraud them of their goods
      b) demand partial or full refunds
      c) demand that feedback be left for them immediately taking
away from the voluntary nature of feedback
      d) diminishing the buyer contact with seller to work out problems prior
          to claims and feedback
3) Overall it will not protect us from the many poor sellers that have
and will continue to create a difficult buying environment
4) Create an environment that new buyers will have limited access to
         quality sellers.

Please reconsider immediately-we do not need protection from the many honest sellers that will leave the venue. You as a corporation need to better police problems sellers. To make a general policy that sellers can only leave positve feedback, hurts the finest and supports the poorest of sellers.

Ebay you are STABBING the very Backs of the people WHO BUILT YOU ! It's THE sellers THAT MADE YOU A SUCCESS ~ HOW QUICKLY YOU FORGET- Not being able to leave buyers deserved negative feedback is a diservice to all sellers ~ Also the rolling 12mo feedback ~ What the Hell is that ? I just sold an item to a person who's feedback rating showed 100% ~ but they still have not paid for the item ~ checking their history I found that they had THREE Negatives for NON-PAYING BIDDER - How could you let someone like this get away with that ? The forced paypal is another issue as well- guess what ? When someone sends me a check or money order THAT MONEY IS ALL MINE & I don't have to give a percentage to anyone. Yes EBAY - you got us coming & going - but I suspect most of your best sellers will soon be going !

ALLOW ALL EBAYERS, SELLERS AND BUYERS THE SAME RIGHT TO LEAVE WHICHEVER FEEDBACK THEY SEE FIT. I AM FED UP OF BEING THE VICTIM OF NON PAYING BUYERS BUT I CAN'T WARN OTHER SELLERS. EBAY WON'T LET ME

I have not sold a thing since this change has taken effect. I have left my account open till the day comes when the feedback policy once again is fair and equally weighted. If all sellers would just suspend their selling for a couple of months in protest the management might actually take notice, otherwise we are all just background noise to the people in charge of ebay.

I was an ebay buyer, but I haven't been able to find anything worth buying since about June of 2008. I see large sellers with lots of sales and garbage as items, and ebay keeps sending me incentives to buy, but there's nothing I want now. I won't get their credit card for discounts and the sellers I normally searched are gone. I was mainly a buyer, but when I wanted to buy something that was $200 or more, I used to sell my unwanted items until I had enough money to buy the expensive collector items that I need. I used to think I could create my buying power from my online garage sales, but now I can't even charge 1/2 actual price for shipping and get more than a 4.3 rating. I was banned from selling for a 4.2 shipping rating (when I charged HALF PRICE of usps), and so I stopped buying on ebay. Even now when I search the items I used to spend about $1500 a month on, as a buyer, I can't find them. Ebay seems terrible now, and I just go to flea markets to find unusual items. Ebay is probably to blame for all the foreclosers in my state by hurting sellers and just seems now like a horrible company. John Donahoe should be replaced by someone who knows what ebay WAS!

TOTAL BOYCOTT FOR CHANGE or as much as you can afford to. Write the ebay major stockholders to remove John Donahoe and reverse the changes back to what made Ebay a good place to use.

All ebay users will be kicked off no matter how good you are because it is set up that way.. it is not up to you it is up to the buyers..so stop the winning..milk it for now and when you get kicked off open a new bank account get a new paypal account and MILK it until you get screwed by ebay again. What I don't understand is that in the history of the USA there has never been a monopoly like ebay . why has no other company done what they have done?....I now insure anything over $75 signature confirmation over $200 and tracking..my packing could fall out of an airplane a still survive..I ship the day after payment..and am just waiting to get the pink slip ...AGAIN

I have several buyers each week who claim they did not recieve their product. They refuse to purchase insurance and then file a paypal dispute, where the seller gets no protection for low cost items such as mine, get their money back and then leave a negative stating I never sent the item. This is often done without even contacting me to tell me they didn't get the item. I don't run the post office!! There are many untruthful customers that I send an item to several times to avoid negative feedback but they claim they still didn't get it? I don't think so. There are also a huge number of buyers that provide the wrong address and then expect you to send an item out again whether it was returned to you or not. My items average $4. Add in paypal and ebay fees and I cannot afford to pay postage twice...let alone send the item out twice for their mistake. No they act this way with no retribution. Whoever thinks there are no bad buyers...you are a moron. Buyers always act foolishly as they think it is their right. I hope ebay and paypal both go bankrupt to make more room for other auction sites to grow.

Ebay recent policies and interface 'designs' are thought-up by inexperienced narrow-minded managers and 'developers' who don't understand one @#$% thing about human factors testing or usability. Arrogant rich Ebay execs do not listen!

All the new changes at Ebay are disturbing to say the least . I have been buying and selling since 1999 and have witnesed lots of changes since then. Some were great improvements but these have been overshadowed by the new policies.Feedback should have been LEFT ALONE period, forced paypal use on buyers is also absurd not to mention the outrageous fees .Now get this I live in Canada and now Revenue Canada the government tax collecting agency has demanded that Ebay Canada give a list of names of all Power sellers so they can squeeze the last bit of profit they have left after Ebay and Paypal get through with them and Ebay has complied to this demand.Advice here is do not become a power seller! I'm sure once the IRS gets wind of this they will form a special task force to ride up everyones ass as well.Dear Ebay fire the jerk off in charge of all the new changes admit you were wrong and take us back to a simpler well functioning time when we all enjoyed buying and selling on Ebay.

For nearly 4 years I had a 100% positive feedback. Now I’ve been blocked by eBay, because of two buyers who gave me (3) negative feedback. The first, who never paid for the object, the second, because, instead of judging me for the object and the service I gave, found it necessary to give negative feedback for not have given him feedback soon enough. More than 1980 (more than satisfied customers) positive feedbacks, nearly 4 years of selling on eBay count for nothing. Therefore eBay blocked me and it will be probably forever. I have no means of existence since my husband left me, my son has to take care of me and that will be a big burden now. It sucks !

I have a 100% positive feedback throughout 8 years of an Ebay member. 267 straight positive transactions. I now cannot sell? Why? I don't know, the buyer didn't complain to me 1 bit. I closed my account.

I am a small seller who because of a low flow of sales is affected greatly by a single 4.0 Star rating and now cannot sell for up to 1 year. I have always had 100% Positive Feedback in the 4 years I have been selling.

I have had a substantial increase in non paying buyers . There is no penalty for people who bid and win and never pay and tie up sellers products/merchandise. It was explained to me a Customer Service Rep. that a store , the seller, cannot leave negative feedback for buyer in a brick and mortar setting. We'll how does a buyer leave negative feedback worldwide for store? Recourse is not to patronize the store , write the powers that be, or perhaps protest with a sign in front of store. All are limited and not possibly viewed world wide.Ebay is, in my opinion, hurting both buyers and sellers and ultimately their business as a company. Without sellers there would be no buyers. I also believe that new changes may possibly violate the laws of contract, the UCC, the Sherman Anti-trust Act, fair trade and in my opinion it is time for the US Department of Justice to get involved as well as the California Attorney General's Office and the US Attorney General's Office. I would personally not be surprised to see Ebay eventually go the way of Microsoft and Enron. I will cease buying and selling on Ebay as of 12/31/08. No more Ebay for me or my family. We will buy and sell through through other means. We will also stop using PayPal and Half.com. Here we come Amazon and Barnes and Noble and Craig's List and others with no ties to Ebayl

Ebay does not respect good sellers who try - this only allow dishonest buyers to do whatever they want. There is definitely NO freedom of speech whatesoever! When will ebay ever LISTEN also to sellers who generate them the revenue to keep them afloat?

Well yesterday some lying moron took my 100% positve feedback right down the drain! I called ebay and of course they won't do a stinking thing. I am so ticked off about this that I am going to check into taking my business elsewhere! Do these CEOS not realize that buying&selling is a two-way street...? You can't have one without the other...DUH!!! All I can say is that whoever (one and all) came up with this idiotic idea should be fired immediately !!!!!!!!!

I've had an account with ebay for 7 years. I've made them close to $100,000. In the last 6 months they have completely alienated their most loyal customers. I'm finished with ebay. He who bites the hand that feeds will starve. I look forward to watching you starve ebay.

The new ebay ceos and management has done nothing but ruin ebay in the last 12 monthes. Profits may be high at the moment, but gauranteed it is going to be a downhill ride as more people leave.

Ebay has signed its death warrant. May 2008 was a very shoddy move. Poorly thought out. CEO has never sold anything on the web and lives in a glass house .

I have so many unpaid buyers and I cannot warn other sellers of deadbeat bidders. The bidder gets a unpaid item strike, but only the buyer is aware of that. Ebay needs to allow unpaid buyers to get negetive feedback. There needs to be accountabilty on bidders part. Then us sellers have to wait two full weeks before we could relist the item and risk losing a customer in a second chance offer. Also, the DSR is unfair. I charge the exact cost of postage. I absorb the costs of the packing supplies and I still get low stars on the DSR. I wish i can give a detailed buyer report to wher I can give a buyer stars on things like how quickly they PAID, how many dumb questions they asked, how they did not read the details of the listing.

I am getting way too many non-paying bidders. I do not like that they can continue to bid and not pay on items without fear of any repercussions. I hate that they waste my time.

The new feedback policy is heavily weighted against sellers and allows unscrupulous purchasers to ruin long time ebayers reputations with unsubstantiated complaints.

This feedback change was just the first of eBay's abusive treatment to it's customers, as setting the shipping charge, taking away the rights of sellers to take payments due them in whatever form they see fit, and now freezing Paypal accounts of sellers so that they don't receive the payments that their customers (the buyers on eBay) owe them, but still having to give the buyer what they paid for, or risk negative feedback after negative feedback from frustrated buyers who don't get what they paid for. This pits buyer against seller which should not happen in business transactions between honest people. This causes animosity between buyers and sellers while eBay gets to take the buyer's payments and run. So yes, I will sign this and any other petition against eBay.

Today I sold an item, and it had an estimated shipping amount. I sent an invoice to the buyer, frnkjd, and let him know the shipping might be a bit more (less than $10 more for a $175 item). He does not want to pay what the actual shipping costs, and will not agree to cancel the transaction so that I can relist the item. He is trying to force me to send the item for the lower shipping amount. He can leave me negative feedback, but I cannot leave any for him? He's wrecked my whole day, and as soon as I have completed my outstanding transactions on ebay I will probably close out my account because I've had it with pains like this guy. What is this guy going to do to the next unsuspecting seller, who won't know anything about him because I cannot leave negative feedback?

Sellers are often buyers too. The new rules that discriminate against sellers are truly unfair. Don't expect me to buy anything on ebay any more either unless these rules are reversed.

EBay Seller ID: MamaMiaBell Selling since 2000! The new feedback systems promotes more UPIs without any fear of bidder receiving a negative/neutral! Yet the seller is still subjected to a negative! Not a FAIR marketplace. Sellers should be made aware of UPIs and see comments by other sellers if a bidder has acted badly in a deal! Why can't the Bidder requirements allow no bidding if there is one (1) UPI, why two? As a seller now, I also avoid leaving ANY feedback if bidder has been a pain in the ass (not paid in timely manner, says they never received item and get money back, rudeness) for fear of retaliation and now they can go back and CHANGE feedback & remarks? This is nuts! Change it back to the way it was! The shake out of poor sellers/bidders will show themselves.

As a seller, it stinks to not be able to leave feedback when a buyer doesn't bother to pay or communicate. Our only option is to not leave feedback. That doesn't really do anything at all!
