I am no longer selling on eBay and opened my own site www.discountfashionboutique.com that is made up of everything I had on eBay now listed as a buy it now. I suggest everyone email there customers and make up there own site. If anyone would like to sell anything on my site I will give them a page and they can sell what they want. I would love to get a bunch of powersellers and all sell on the same site and share our customers. Do not let your customers get away sellers! Ebay increased our fees which makes sellers increase there starting price whcih hurts the buyers. The entire eBay system is horrible. I feel bad for buyers and sellers. With my own site I have much lower prices and always give free shipping. I would sell an Anthropologie top for 50 on eBay and just make a few bucks. Now I can sell it for 30 and make a profit. On aug. 20th 2008, eBay moved the goal posts and changed the seller requirements (again) concerning feedback; now making it near impossible for honest professional sellers like us to remain on the site if you don’t help us in this situation.
Did you know that when you click on four out of five DSR stars (a B+ grade in the real world); this Is a failing grade for every seller on eBay? The new rules require a minimum of “4.3 stars” in each of the four categories of the DSR. If you don’t voluntarily leave sellers five out of five stars in all four DSR categories, we will all be removed from the site!
THIS IS NOT A JOKE, eBay recently removed us from the site for three weeks due to “Seller Non-performance” because of one negative, one neutral and a single 4.2 DSR category (shipping time) that were determined over a single 30-day period! We are not alone; without warning eBay has automatically done this to thousands of other absolutely good sellers ( for proof: Google “eBay non-performing seller”)
eBay’s ridiculous new statistics program threw out 9-1/2 years of unrivaled commitment to customer satisfaction and determines the survival of our business with a “30-day rolling sample window”.

It seems as if EBAY has positioned itself to cater to the buyers at all costs to the sellers. The new feedback system is by far the most unrealistic means of gauging a seller's customer service skills and job performance. It basically allows any buyer to hold all power over the seller by letting him/her give negative feedback for any transaction while the seller is required to give only a positive rating for all transactions,even the worst ones. Why is it that sellers aren't given a star system of feedback to gauge the buyers' performance. Afterall,it does take two to tango !This one-sided system of eBay is lopsided at best and smacks of totalitarianism,thus undermining any sense of democracy or fairness. For me it appears that eBay plays the fiddle and reqiuires the seller to dance to any frivolous tune they desire to play ! Perhaps the sellers should unite and consider a class action suit against eBay for unfair business practices ! The key element to keep in mind here is that without sellers there would be absolutely no buyers. It's not a question of the chicken and egg,for the sellers had to arrive first !

The new feedback policy is very unfair to sellers. I have had a buyer take full advantage of that. I had listed an item and I had stated said no returns (due to hygienic/saftey reasons) Item is an OPENED package about three times in the listing, in bold capital letters. The buyer emailed me I want a refund, the package was opened, if you do not I will destroy your reputation. Ebay told me not to respond to the buyers email and trust and saftey should take care of it, live help also suggested this twice. Ebay also advised trust and saftey will remove the negative feedback. So 2 or 3 days later I of course receive unnessasary negative feedback saying " Warning scam ebay seller, do not learn the hard way like me" Well after sending the email to ebay, and all the communication trust and saftey said they will not remove it. They said it didnt meet the qualificatons, and I would have to get a "court order" to remove the feedback. Trust and saftey agreed with me and awknowledged everything, they just said its the buyers right to leave feedback (as long as it does not contain profanity). So this is a prime example of a seller taking full advanage of the new rule. This is completley unfair to me as I did not deserve the negative feedback on my 100% positive feedback rating. The buyer got away with threatoning me, and uncalled for negative feedback.

Ten years as a top notch seller on eBay right down the drain. Since Feedback and DSR changes we have had more deadbeats, extortion attempts and outright lying by feral buyers than we had in all those years. EBay got several hundred dollars per month from us, we had 24% repeat customers, a 99.99% feedback score and shipped over 30,000 items with virtually "zero" damage.
EBay(read Donahoe) says we're mom & pop flea marketers and they don't need our kind anymore. Well Mr. Donahoe, sellers like me and my wife are what made eBay what it was in it's best days, before your unwelcome arrival, and when enough of our type leave, we'll see you fail. Just as much as I was once proud to have been a part of eBay's rise, so will I be proud to be a part of it's demise.

I have had people buy things from me and dismantle and break them and then they turn it into paypal and ebay saying that it was not as described and I have to send them a full refund for an item that was perfect when it left my home and has come back to me in pieces.
I contacted Ebay and told them of the situation and they gave me the brush off and basically said, too bad for you.
My mom recently sold a saddle to a person with nearly 1000 positive feedback. A month later she received a letter from her bank stating the check had bounced. For 500.00.
She contacted Ebay and got no help. It turns out that this person since the new feedback policy had done this to many other sellers.
Where is the fairness in all of this?
Ebay has become a place for buyers and is offering no protection to its sellers.
What they dont seem to understand is that without sellers there will be no buyers.
No buyers means, no income for them.
If this continues on much longer I am sure that Ebay will soon become just a memory, as they will no longer be in business.
Maybe the economy will get better if Ebay does close its doors. It will make us have to get out of the house to get what we need and want the old fashioned way instead of sitting on our butts surfing the net.
I have a number of friends that were selling over $10,000.00 per month and they have all left because of the new changes.
I too will be joining them.

Ebay's unfair feedback policy is driving away sellers. If there are no sellers there are no buyers DUH! Plus, as the seller has to pay ebays seller fees and still no say in the feedback?

The feedback policy is ridiculous The Fees are High so I pass it on to the Consumer. It is not fair for both parties things I sell should really sell for $10-$50 dollars less but I have to cover my fees
