Help Ensure Children Have Clean and Safe Places to Play

There are currently no regulations at the state or federal level that require businesses that have indoor play structures to clean or maintain them. As a result harmful bacteria are growing, equipment is broken and children are being exposed to unnecessary health hazards. Signing this petition indicates that you would support legislation (Kids Play Safe bill) aimed at correcting the problems and keeping kids safe.

Did you know that every year there are more than 200,000 playground injuries involving children. Moreover, countless children are getting sick after playing playing in an indoor playground that hasn't been properly cleaned.
Right now indoor playgrounds across the country are unregulated. Businesses such as restaurants are not even required to fix broken equipment in the play area or even clean up if a child has an accident or gets sick. As a result children are unnecessarily exposed to hazards that are putting them in danger.
You can help. Sign the petition and let legislators know that the playground should be considered part of the restaurant and that health inspectors should have the authority to check to make sure they are clean and safe. Our children deserve our support.
