Enact Youth Outreach Day

Target:
The President of The United States, Barack Obama
Sponsored by:

We the members of Invisible Youth Network would like to see that Children all over the world are recognized. How can we do that? By having a National Event.

We at Invisible Youth Network, would like to see a Youth Outreach Day becoming a National event to be held every second Saturday of October. In doing this each community can put on a Fair, Cook-out, Craft-sale or other Event. They would raise money for their at risk and homeless children and also if they want donate to an organization for homeless and at risk youth.

We will be writing Representatives to enact a National Event on the Calendar for Youth Outreach Day to be celebrated every second Saturday of October & would be most gratefully of your support for this proposal. There are a lot of homeless and at risk youth in the United States alone. In fact it is estimated there are approximately 1. 5 million. If we can Enact this event here in the USA, We at IYN believe that other Nations will do so & we may start to truely address the hardships faced by Homeless & At Risk Youth around the Globe.

Despite our motto "Advocating for America’s Youth," our endeavours are focused on all homeless and at risk youth with no regard to their geographic location.

Mahatma Gandhi said, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world," and with that in mind, The Invisible Youth Network envisions better lives for children who cannot see it themselves.

Yours faithfully

Something should and could be done to help these children and youths that are part of our generation- my generation. It saddens me and somewhat angers me that oft times they are not considered members of our society and their misery is ignored.

Having volunteered for many years in several organizations, I do recognize how young people are marginalized. Even those that have it the best are not appreciated for their unique and wonderful capabilities, nor extended opportunities, and thus, learn not to appreciate. They can either withdraw from a non-responsive society or act-out in revolution. I think so many of the long-established youth service organizations have dropped the ball, or are just going through the motions and it's time for a gentle nudge to remind all of us. I believe a Youth Outreach Day, as a bookend partner to the already established and popularized Day of Service in April, is a way to bring mentoring youth full-circle. Commit to support and recruit to serve.

The Youth in America truly are our future leaders and how can they become leaders if they are homeless with their parent's and in some cases homeless by being thrown out by their parents or losing them to death. Let us join together and wrap them in the arms of a loving and caring United States of America!

Take a stand against the issue at hand. Let's all do what we can to improve the statistics for the homeless.

It would be wonderful to recognize our nation's homeless and at risk youth by having a national event for them. Communities across the nation could become involved in various ways... the possibilities are endless. Our youth would benefit tremendously from this event. I think it's an excellent idea and I hope more people sign this petition.
