End Bear Farming in China

End Bear Farming in China

Target:
The Chinese Government (via Animals Asia Foundation)
Sponsored by:
How It All Began
In 1993, Animals Asia Founder and CEO, Jill Robinson MBE, walked onto a bear bile farm in China: this was her horrified reaction at what she saw:

"It's a torture chamber, it's a hell hole for animals. As you can see they literally can't move, they can't stand up, they can't turn around, they can just about put their paws out of the cage to feed themselves."
Jill was witnessing Asiatic Black Bears (also known as Moon Bears because of the yellow crescent of fur splashed on their chests) incarcerated in tiny wire cages, with rusting metal catheters implanted in their abdomens through which bile was being extracted for use in Traditional Medicine. Medicine that, she later discovered is completely replaceable by cheaper herbs and synthetics.

Jill began tireless work in China, resolutely building relationships and negotiating with government departments to bring an end to this cruel practice.

Jill has had some success and she has been given permission by the Chinese government to rescue some of the bears from the farms.

For more information please go to http://www.animalsasia.org/index.php?module=2&menupos=2&lg=en

There are still thousands of bears suffering in the farms in China. Please sign the petition to support Jill in her work to end this cruelty!

We, the undersigned, thank the Chinese Government for closing the farms and releasing 500 bears into the care of Animals Asia. We ask that you continue to promote the herbal and synthetic alternatives to bear bile and urgently appeal to you to end bear farming immediately.

China should be ashamed of themselves. That country is barbaric. Those bears do not belong in cages. They belong in the wild. With all the new technology on health, why can't they find something else besides these beautiful animals organs for their betterment? This is so wrong on so many levels it makes me sick.

Why is the government of China supporting this unbelievably torturous cruelty to these innocent and defenseless bears? There must be respectable jobs available for the people who run these hell holes. This cannot continue in the name of humanity and for the sake of the bears, stop this practice.

To Wonderful People of China & Asia: Please stop this cruel practice of hurting bears. We should try to respect them for the beautiful animals they are. They deserve to live a normal animal existence, just as we deserve to live a normal human life. Please try to understand from their view, and respect them as they respect us. Sincerely, Richard Hale
