Yesterday news broke that federal employees responsible for regulating the oil and gas industry were receiving gifts, trips, golf outings and even drugs and sexual favors from the very oil companies they were responsible for regulating.
Now some in Congress seem intent on doing their own special favors for the oil industry with a proposal they call "all of the above"--all drilling, everywhere, all the time.
In the coming days, Congress begins voting on a new set of energy bills that if passed will give more rewards to Big Oil at an even greater expense to us all.
Big Oil's scheme would drill the entire U.S. coastline, the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and promote so called "liquid coal" causing even more global warming pollution.
Ask Congress to break us free of Big Oil's grip and put America on the path toward a clean and secure energy future.
The clean energy solutions that reduce our dependence on fossil fuels are the same technologies that will also solve global warming, clean the air and help protect America's natural resources for our children's future.
Thanks so much for all you're doing to support clean energy solutions!
Sincerely,

The old ways of Big Oil can no longer be tolerated. We demand clean, renewable energy as the way of the future. Fossil fuels are dirty and are not sustainable. Clean, renewable energy is the single most important way to create world peace. This is clearly a case of special interest in maintaining "business as usual" and it must not continue. We cannot solve today's energy needs with yesterday's technology. We have the means to move forward, but due to the greed of big oil, we may be doomed for failure. |
TO DRILL FOR OIL IS TO KILL THE PLANET AND ALL SPECIES ON IT,OIL IS DEATH.
No way! What about our struggling fisheries? Has Exxon EVER paid off for the Valdez "incident". Will they?
Stop Raping The Earth Our Earth! Respect Our Life Our Earth is Not Your Whore!
Our ecosystems are already on the brink of collapse; let's not further the destruction. We CAN make a positive change, however, it does NOT include oil drilling.
The environmental risks involved in drilling the coast-lines, and other pristine ecosystems, FAR out-weigh the potential financial rewards, which would in truth only effect a small percentage of Americans, leaving the rest of us in the same financial bind as before, and a damaged environment on top of that. That is unacceptable!
Is it in the interest of our society to drill in fragile and pristine ecosystems to satisfy the greed of a few?
