I received this procedure as a very young child. Not sure if I was an infant or just a couple years. One of my earliest memories was being in a bright hospital room, screaming, and seeing my bloody penis. I had no idea what was happening at the time. That's all I remember, really, except that I peed in a little different direction afterwards. How's that for a welcome into this world? As an adult, sex has felt callous and dull, and is the source of emotional distress. This has to stop.

In a nutshell, it is rarely medically necessary. It causes pain and distress and is usually unfairly imposed on an infant who has no choice in the matter. Also a colossal Human rights violation. When performed unnecessarily, it increases the chances of penile infection (as any open wound would, especially if the procedure is done in an environment (such as a hospital) which already tends to have a lot of pathogenic organisms about. Routine circumcision, especially of infants is a cultural or cosmetic procedure, with little justification on the grounds of hygiene. Also the top five reasons not to do it is: 1. Because there is no medical reason for "routine" circumcision of baby boys. 2. Because the foreskin is not a birth defect. 3. Because you wouldn't circumcise your baby girl. In the United States, girls of all ages are protected by federal and state laws from genital surgery to which they do not consent, whether practiced in medical or non-medical settings, and regardless of the religious or cultural preferences of their parents. 4. Because your baby does not want to be circumcised. 5. Because removing part of a baby's penis is painful, risky and harmful.

I think any type of procedure with out the conset of the patient should be ILEGAL!! We are born with foreskins. Parents shouldn't be allowed to mutilate a childs body just because they feel like it. Circumsation should be ilegal!!!

Infant circumision or any other medical procedure with out consent of the owner of that body is wrong. Why is it that you cant circ a girl but so many people allow this to happen to infant boys? Is it that you want him to learn that life is all about pain as early as possible?

Infant circumcision (or any other, if forced or not indisputably proven to be medically necessary) is an unforgivable violation of human rights. It is a primitive, barbarous atrocity that leaves a male mutilated and deprived for his entire life. It should be outlawed immediately and irrevocably, with severe legal penalties for anyone complicit in the butchery.

I think the way the gods made you is the way one should be. And let the choice be theirs not, yours just because "everyone else will laugh at him in the locker room" or "it's cleaner" excuses. If u teach him how to clean it, which by the way is just as easy as washing your face, it's just as clean as the next. And also the risks of botching a circumcision is there, and gods know let's not even go there. It's not a problem in any other nation besides our and those nations are just fine. Natural's the way to go. Most parents preach "Just be yourself", well let them be themselves, their WHOLE selves.
