Yes you should av your own blood bank to help others who are gay or bi-sexual and it should be kept WELL SEPERATE from heterosexual blood. I would HATE it if I was given gay/bi blood I would prefer to jump of a bridge actually given your blood is like saying MURDER ME. Blood is blood. It shouldn't matter who is the blood donor because that blood are need for people who badly need it so wouldn't you have any blood to save yourself or someone that you know than not having it just because of someones sexualty. Its not like its contagious. If I needed blood(without any dieseases etc) and there was only blood from anyone whos not straight I wouldn't care at all because that person who donated that blood to save my life I would be extremly happy. Blood is blood...whoever is donating it. Considering the need for donorblood rejecting groups of people seems very odd. Every donor to be, whatever his/her sexual preference, is going to be tested, so what's the problem??? Afraid that it might be contagious??? Step into the 21st century : the earth isn't flat and homo/bi sexualty is not contagious.... Please change this old-fashioned law so that anyone who wishes to do so can become a blood donor (provided they have a clean bill of health but that speaks for itself).

Having worked in the medical field I understand the complexity of the issue. That being said with today's testing of various diseases there is little chance of the disease not being detected. The governments of the world need to re-examine their scientific data and start accepting blood from the gay population.

This is Completely Stupid.. How can you deny someones willingness to help others in a great time of need because of their sexual preference. I would be extremely happy to receive blood from anyone ( as long as they don't test postitive for any diseases or STD's). If my life was on the line and i needed blood I don't wanna hear sorry we don't have any straight blood, Donating your blood to someone will not make the receiver straight, gay, lesbian, bi sexual or even a murderer or child abuser. and anyone who thinks it will is extremely STUPID!!! Blood donations are the difference between life and death for someone, what are you gonna tell your child when they need a blood donation or they will die and the only person who matches is "not straight", Sorry honey you are gonna die cause the only match for blood comes from a lesbian. Well for me i would say " Bring On The Lesbian Blood!!" I enjoy spending everyday with my children and if My Children, Husband, Or I should ever need blood I hope it comes from a "Non Straight" person they have the greatest personalities and souls by far then alot of straight people do or this petition wouldn't even be here!!
