I urge officials to legally shield wildlife from abuse, including the senseless slaughter of whales for sport. It is disgusting and barbaric and needs to be outlawed. I will encourage a ban on Danish products and tourism in Denmark until the practice ends.
The population count for North Atlantic long-finned pilot whales is unknown.
Each time the Faeroese kill even 100 whales, entire pods are erased. This weakens the their gene pool and harms ecosystems in the North Atlantic and the North Sea.

I am sick to the stomach. I cannot believe that anyone in their right minds can kill these beautiful creatures. How totally barbaric and disgusting. The sea belongs to the creatures of the sea. Transition into adulthood ? ReallY? All these barbarians need to get a real life. What a shame all the blood doesn't attract the sharks ..... they could have a real human feed. I will circulate this petition and spread it as far and wide as I can, and email the Danish Embassy in Australia voicing my strongest disgust at these human BEASTS. Please everyone, email your Danish Embassy wherever you live and DON'T mince your words.

If not for out of concern for the whales being brutally slaughter for no good reason, please consider the health of citizens of Faeroe Islands. The high mercury content in the whale meat being consumed has serious and long lasting health effects on the Islander. This practice is out dated and endangers not only wildlife but the human population of Faeros Islands as well. Please move quickly to end this practice.
