EQUAL COVERAGE FOR MENTAL HEALTH CARE in Health Care Reform

Health Care Reform must include equal coverage for mental health care. Mental illness should be treated like the same as physical illness.  All mental illnesses have a physical basis. Why should it be treated differently by insurance companies?

Many people with illnesses such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, etc. cannot get the care they really need because their insurance won't cover it or the co-insurance is too large.
Please take into consideration when writing the Health Care Reform bill the numerous Americans that are unable to get the care they need for a mental illness because it is treatly differently by insurance companies.  Although mental illnesses have physical causes, insurance companies still treat them differently from other illnesses.

Please close the gap between payment of "regular" health care and mental health care.  Proper treatment will save our country money in the long run by allowing Americans with mental illnesses to participate more fully in their communities.

Thank you for your hard work and consideration.
