Exonerate the WM3

  • by: Misalyn Young
  • recipient: Governor of the state of Arkansas Asa Hutchinson

We are seeking full exoneration for the 3 innocent men, Damien Echols, Jessie Misskelley and Jason Baldwin (aka the West Memphis 3), who were sent to prison as young teens for the murders of Christopher Byers, Steve Branch and Michael Moore. Even though through the hard work of their legal teams, celebrity and public support and are free men today, they had to plead guilty to murdering 3 young boys in Arkansas according to the Alford Plea. This is not justice...it is only a small step in the right direction. We want to see their criminal records wiped clean of all charges related to this crime. We as a community need to step in and demand FULL EXONERATION for them so that the case can be reopened and investigated. The state of Arkansas owes it to these young men to right this terrible wrong and continue the search for whoever took the precious lives of Christopher Byers, Steve Branch and Michael Moore! Whether you have been following this story from day 1 or are only hearing about this now, remember...THIS COULD HAPPEN TO YOU! It is up to us to ensure this doesn't happen again!

We the undersigned demand that Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley be fully exonerated for the murders of Christopher Byers, Steve Branch and Michael Moore. We demand that their criminal records be wiped clean of all charges related to this crime with their rights and legal options fully restored as citizens of Arkansas and the United States of America.
Furthermore, we demand the state of Arkansas reopen this case and actively pursue the conviction and punishment of the real killer or killers in this crime in which Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley were wrongly convicted and incarcerated for the last 18 years.
Finally, we demand legal punitive action be taken against all law enforcement, prosecutorial and judicial officials who conspired in this willful miscarriage of justice.
