Expand Borneo's Rainforest Protection

In the last thirty years, logging in the unprotected forests of Sarawak has been all but ignored by the Malaysian government and Prime Minister, Najib Razak. Instead of taking care of the problem, they are insisting that it is their right to harness their forest resources "under its own terms in the name of economic development". Now an estimated 95% of Sarawak's forest has been logged once, at the very least, and less than 2% of the land area is being protected. As a result, these unprotected zones are quickly being logged by the five leading logging groups of Sarawak. This signifies the desolation of a one hundred million year old forest ecosystem as well as the disappearance of the canopy. A number of animals are now not being seen at all or very rarely, including Sarawak's majestic national bird, the hornbill. It is high time we start fighting back. The number of rainforests left in the world is frightening. We must tell Prime Minister Najib Razak to expand protection in Sarawak, one of the few rainforests left in the world.

I am writing this letter to communicate my concern for the Sarawak Rainforest of Borneo and to put forward the necessity of its protection.
Rainforests cover less than two percent of the Earth's surface area, yet they are home to 50% of the world's plants and animals. That means that every mile, acre, and foot of Sarawak is precious to our planet. With the destruction of this rainforest comes the destruction of millions of living creatures, all crucial to the Earth's biosphere.
Please add protection the the rainforest - you would be saving millions of trees, plants, and animals.
