A Kitchen Resolution

A Kitchen Resolution

Target:
Because Meals Made Together Just Taste Better!
Sponsored by:

Make a New Year's Resolution to change the way your family eats! Kitchen Kid supports "Family Kitchen:" a commitment to cook dinner with your family one night each week. If families who eat dinner together raise smarter, safer, and more secure kids, we can only imagine what happens when families cook together!
The plan:
1. Join the Kitchen Resolution and resolve to call your family into the kitchen one night each week when soccer practice and PTO meetings won't have you eating in the car. (Don't have kids running around? Meals made together STILL taste better, so gather your friends instead!)

2. Earlier in the week, choose a menu theme (Greek? Comfort food? No-silverware-needed finger foods?) that will excite your family chefs, and plan and shop for the meal.

3. On the night of Family Kitchen, make sure each family member lends a hand.  There are appropriate kitchen tasks for every family member, young and old.

4. Remember, this meal is much more about the process than the product. So take time, have fun, and enjoy your too-crowded kitchen -- and the meal you'll create together!

Think you can stomach this tasty adventure each week? Pledge your support to change the way American families have dinner and sign the petition below! Share your favorite Family Kitchen stories below or send them to samantha@kitchenkid.com.

I truly believe that this resolution is great as we continue to be the change we want to see in the world. We must go back to living simple and fun lives enjoying the children that we have created. The best way to do this is to provide as many opportunities to share love through time and food.

I try to cook at least once per week and we have at least one bake day per month.

My 16 month old son likes to sit in the sink when I am cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner. I love that he is so kitchen-curious!

We cook with family & friends at least 4 times a week.

I fondly remember family dinners every weeknight and especially weekends as a time to catch up with each other and focus on what's most important: Family! Of course it helped having parents that are such great cooks!

Currently, probably 5 days a month will my friends/family and I actually do the cooking together. I look forward to these times!

I loved having my daughter share in every meal preparation (breakfast, lunch, dinner, BBQs, picnics) as she was growing up. It was fun and now as an adult she thrives on eating well and enjoys critiquing and analyzing meals and menus and is a better cook then I ever was.
