Dolphin drive hunting, also called dolphin drive fishing, is a method of hunting dolphins and occasionally other small cetaceans by driving them together with boats and then usually into a bay or onto a beach. Their escape is prevented by closing off the route to the open sea or ocean with boats and nets.

Despite the controversial nature of the hunt resulting in international criticism and the possible health risk that the often polluted meat causes, many thousands of dolphins are caught in drive hunts each year...lets all unite and stop it NOW..be the voice of the voiceless...defend the defenceless..please sign petition and below are the contacts for authorities..PLEASE WRITE/INVITE/EMAIL..

If you would like to take action against the hunt, you can write to the Faroese government and tourist board and explain your concerns and why you think it should be stopped. You can tell authorities there that the hunts are no longer necessary to provide food for islanders and that studies show that dolphin meat contains toxins that are unsafe to consume. Also, pilot whales, who are intelligent social animals, are forced to endure severe physical and psychological suffering during the drive hunt%u2014the hunt does not meet humane slaughter standards at any level. You can add that the hunts tarnish the Faroe Islands' international image and discourage tourists from visiting.

Scientists in Faroe have been publishing more warnings of the health risks of whale meat, with some thinking that this will deter the grind - maybe it will - next generation, say in 15-20 years time. That could be 20,000 whales killed too late. Okay, pilot whales are not a listed endangered spp but why do we have to wait until a spp hits the red mark to do more about it? We cannot sit back in hope that the killing will stop due to peoples concern for health. There are already videos out there broadcasting that they will continue to eat the meat, maybe a little less than before. Chances have to be taken in life..hoping that Faroe will stop soon is not a chance i would take.

For the love of life, please let this stop..never  forget Faroe..the whales need us.
