This petition is in response to a call for censorship on Wikipedia by the Muslim community here. They claim that any depiction of the Prophet Mohammed is blasphemy and therefor forbidden.
While Muslims are entitled to their beliefs, they cannot impose them on people of different faiths. They themselves are required to respect the beliefs and practices of others whether they be religious or not.
This is not so much about religion as it is the reporting of historical events and people. The Prophet Mohammed was a important figure in history like so many others. While Muslims may perceive him as a prophet not to be depicted in portraits, that is only a belief and not fact. For many of us he is just a historical figure and is therefore afforded no special privileges.

These caricatures are not just pictures and each have an addressing mean explained on wikipedia well. I think every freedom supporter shall translate these pages to their native languages to be well understood rather than muslims take it serious. Caricatures just and only tells about the absolute asset that true islam built on. Muslims, be nice and debate it all the way throughout a medieval cult that fights against any milestones that human nature made available to the civilisation.

I do not believe Mohammed was a prophet nevertheless he was a historical figure therefore any depiction of the Prophet Mohammed is not blasphemy.
