Release Cipher Complex

Cipher Complex
is a stealth-action video game for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 that was announced in 2006 and was in development at Edge of Reality. 2009 saw the cancellation of the title by Sega (the publisher). As an independent self-funded project (though a certified AAA game) that was reportedly well on track, Edge of Reality were hoping to breathe fresh air into a genre dominated by Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell and the Metal Gear Solid series by infusing slick, progressive and action-orientated gameplay that would be very instinctive, hence their term "aggressive infiltration." The main character, Lt. Col. John Sullivan (also known as Cipher) would be the player character. Here's the official plot summary:

"U.S. surveillance satellites detect activity onboard the decommissioned Soviet Bargration Missile Defense Station 4 off the east coast of Siberia. When the Russians deny the U.S. access to the facility, Department of Defense strategists suggest that a small, plausibly deniable reconnaissance mission be sent in to investigate. The Defense Threat Reduction Agency is given the go-ahead for operation BLACKOUT, the insertion of a single expert Operator on Russian WMDs and launch facilities. Lt. Col. John Sullivan, callsign: Cipher is air dropped in, and what was supposed to be primarily a reconnaissance mission becomes a race against a terrorist threat; one with implications that will shake the foundations of American democracy and freedoms."

As Binu Philip, President of Edge of Reality described it, "Our dream project."

Please help to get this game released; it's unfair to those who worked diligently on the project that close to 5 years of their time, effort and talent, not to mention their creative vision, should go to waste. If Alan Wake can go gold and ship after over 5 years of development, Cipher Complex can. This petition is dedicated to them.
We the undersigned urge Sega Corporation and of course, Edge of Reality, Ltd. to at least consider reviving Cipher Complex as its premise is enthralling and would feature unique gameplay elements, which the developers themselves asserted as never before seen in a video game of this type. A rich experience, in short. Many gamers were understandably gutted when this game was axed and why this happened was never disclosed - not by Sega, not by Edge of Reality and certainly not through any of the gaming news websites. Even if the game is beyond resurrection, we would at least be very appreciative to know why the development was halted and the game dropped.

On a final note, may we thank you for your time in reading this letter/petition and for taking it into consideration.
