Because of your ongoing concerns with protecting our planet's diversity of species, I thought you might be interested to learn of recent events in this regard.

You will be pleased to know that I have once again agreed to cosponsor H.R. 1513, the Great Ape Protection and Cost Savings Act and look forward to helping it progress through the House.  As you may know, this legislation would prohibit the conducting of invasive research on great apes.  H.R. 1513 remains pending before the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.  In an effort to be of all possible assistance to you, I have taken the liberty of sharing our mutual support for the Great Ape Protection and Cost Savings Act with my colleagues on the committee.  As they continue to review this legislation, you can be sure that they will keep our views in mind.
