Food Safe Finish Option for printed objects

Shapeways is an AMAZING service to allow the humble creator to design objects on the computer and print them in 3D dimensions using a variety of materials.

To date, there is not option to request (and pay for) a finish to be applied to the printed objects.  This would be useful for a number of reasons, to protect the object, to add a food safe layer, to smoothen the surface (the color prints are rough on contact to skin).  Spray on finishes such as shellac, polyurthethane, etc would add a lot to the value of the objects.

As users of Shapeways, we would be interested in having finishing options, and have signed this petition to demonstrate to Shapeways our interest.
