I started this petition to help get Toronto a little cleaner. Every Mayor we have had in this city leaves with our city looking just a bit more dirtier. We the undersigned want our city to have stronger laws in regards to illegal dumping, littering and downtown traffic. We also want better garbage cans(with more collections), cleaner streets and more recycling pick ups. We also want Spadina Av cleaned up and Queen st west hosed with soap and water as both streets smell really bad. We want cleaner TTC buses and subways. The floors/walls and windows are filthy. We want more corporate accountability for the crazy amount of garbage they leave out on collection nights. Yonge st stinks really badly from all the garbage on pick up night. How about all the trash on peoples lawns along Dufferin St/Dupont to Dufferin/Bloor. We the undersigned are sick and tired of watching our city turn into a cesspool of filth and garbage.
To Mayor David Miller and all future Mayors of Toronto, We are tired of living in filth and we will not stand for this anymore. We the undersigned want the Toronto we grew up with. A city that not only we can be proud of but that visitors can brag about coming to. We will not put up with lazy excuses and bad designs of new garbage bins. Wasting our tax dollars on poor designs just to statisfy our demands is disgusting and it makes us even more passionate about our demands. Respect our demands so that once more Toronto can shine amongst it's sister cities and again become Toronto the Good.

Toronto used to be a clean city, but not anymore. I have been to several big cities in Canada, USA and Europe and Toronto is definitely dirtier than most, we have fallen way behind. And it's getting worse. And nobody cares.
Apathy abounds here.

We have more taxes collected and yet a dirty city. What happened to the days when the lawns were cut and trimmed, TTC was washed and clean. City streets were washed and garbage picked up.

It’s trying going about your day-to-day activities and continually seeing/encountering trash on the street. It's distressing and appalling to know that this is a great city but not be able to back it up because it's being increasingly covered under a congealing film of trash. Toronto needs to control the trash flow! If certain trash bins are over flowing, station more nearby and if certain bins are empty but the ground is littered nearby, make the bins more available/noticeable. Likewise it is our job as citizens to take those few extra steps to deposit our trash. This is where we live, work, play, and grow; Let’s be proud of that and show our city off!

THANKS, Mr. Navarro. Unfortunately I was overcome with apathy - that nobody cared. I am so glad you've started this petition. Now I don't know where to start. Yes - Toronto used to be beautiful. The streets were clean, even the alleys. If there was a stench in the air it was because garbage men were striking. But lets face it - after Mel Lastman was gone this place turned into a pig sty. Any weak, half hearted attempts by City Hall to clean it up have been exactly that, half hearted. Mayor Miller and his group of lazy assed cronies keep trying to pass Toronto off as being a "World Class City". HA! This urban wasteland needs some major work before it can be called that. Mayor Miller - get off your ass and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT NOW!!

Toronto is not our nations capital, although many Americans believe it is. Toronto is so well known for many things; theaters, restaurants, museums, its unfortunate it is also now known for the trash.
