I support Assembly bill A3275 and Senate bill S2041 - legislation that will democratize, modernize and remove the corrupting influence of profit from the hunter-dominated New Jersey Fish and Game Council, the state body that has power over our wildlife. Declaration for an Independent and Democratic Wildlife Council We, the people of New Jersey, stand united against the NJ Fish and Game Council, for it has abused its power, has broken the law, and benefits from millions of our tax-dollars every year without giving one voice to the common man. We seek nothing but reasonable reforms that will prepare our state for managing wildlife in the twenty-first century. We aspire to nothing more than bringing democracy to a state body that now has none. We act for the environment, for wildlife, for the people of New Jersey and the ideal of good government, for when one special interest holds tyranny over all, only arrogance and corruption can follow. In this cause we are unanimous and resolute: The NJ Fish and Game Council must be dramatically reformed, so that it will at last serve the interests of the many instead of the recreational hunting desires of the few.

I moved to this beautiful State from Florida. I was appalled at the redneck hunters in Florida going to Alabama like clockwork to hunt wildlife and I hated the hunting clubs where I lived in Pensacola, Fl. But when I came to NJ, I was most disgusted seeing hunters on their lunch hours park and walk into the woods to kill something. If the woods weren't marked with "No Hunting" signs, it was ok for them to just step on in and disturb the wildlife habitat. I'll do whatever I can do to stop this needless killing of our beautiful fuzzy families. I'm even all for more deer crossing signs. I see too many beautiful deer killed and just left on the side of the road. Since I've been here I've seen so many deer, bears and other beautiful creatures. I hope to have some impact on saving their precious lives.

we are so sick and tired of our wildlife being killed for fun and profit; and such bloody thirsty sick way of entertainment is done at the blessing of the department of wildlife or officials that are supposed to be guarding wildlife.

Despite credible research indicating the majority of NJ citizens abhor lethal methods of wildlife "management" our state continues to ignore the facts in favor of special interest groups. This must stop now.

I will not visit your state until it has more respect for it's wildlife, and makes important and positive changes.
If a state doesn't show concern for it's own wildlife, why would you care about me?

I pay taxes that support the South Mountain Reservation area and I also hike there. Since the deer hunt has been put into place I have considered moving out the supporting areas and no longer wish to hike there. In addition, I've spent a lot of time hiking off the beaten path in that reservation and drive that road several time A DAY...RARELY do I see any deer dead or alive!! This is a problem that has been inflated by hunters who want virgin land on which to hunt. It's as simple as that.
