Despite it's overwhelming success and devoted cult following the BBC still refuse to release the television documentary "It's Not Easy Being Green" on DVD. As well as being hugely entertaining it also dealt with massive environmental issues. The book of the TV show was released and it flew off the shelves but still no sign of a DVD!! When you visit their website it is plagued by queries about a release date but Dick has confirmed that the BBC have no intention of making one. Please help to get this fantastic show released onto DVD!!! If you are a lover of all things green, all things eco or all things just a bit different then this is the show for you, and if you didn't see it first time around, unless we get our DVD, you won't get to see it!!! Please help this incredible family and this incredible cause because as we all know, it's really not easy being green!

We the undersigned have created this petition in order to illustrate the demand for "It's Not Easy Being Green" on DVD. This show had a great following when it was aired and when the book was released. We do not understand that such an entertaining and educational show should have been overlooked when it came to releasing the neverending list of BBC programmes committed to disc. The Strawbridge family became poster children for environmental issues and pioneered a show that not only dealt with important green issues but actually practiced what it preached. It was hugely entertaining and inspired many to tkae a more responsible approach to their lifestyles. Surely in the social climate which we currently find ourselves nothing could be more important than encouraging others to take personal responsibility and to seek to remedy the damage that they have wrought over the years. With the recent mania for reducing, reusing and recycling and the introduction of such familiar phrases as "carbon footprint" and "eco friendly" surely the time is right for this kind of show.
We thank you for taking time to read our petition and hope that you will see the benefits of releasing this DVD - not only environmentally for everyone else but commercially for yourselves.

this series got me thinking what could i do to make a difference, i now recycle most of my grey water but i want to do more. there is so much helpful information in these programs and at a time that we are being told we must do more to save the planet then surely a public financed organization should do all it can to help.

I loved this show, and was very influenced by it - we are now raising our own food and trying to make the world a better place by leaving it green. and now my daughter would like to get involved in making these important green changes to her life as well- she has only seen a few episodes. I order lots of things through BBC Canada. I do HOPE you will change your mind. This dvd is great and important for generations to come.

Hi I've grown to love your programme ,I haven't seen the first ones but managed to catch a few online, however this is one of the few programmes that as a family we can all enjoy and the boys are impressed with Dicks mustach which is a conversation in itself. I'm from Jamaican small holding heritage and cooking from basic is important for physical and spiritual well being, as i try and teach my boys being green is the eternal job that God gave to Adam and Eve, so really we're trying to do what we should be doing anyway, good honest hard work. So for me, my household and practically everyone I speak to from a variety of backgrounds and financial levels we all want help and inspiration on going back to basics. So to the powers that be this is a good way of generating capital to help to carry on producing this type of quality tv we've worldwide come to appreciate from the BBC so sort it man.

As a now retired cameraman and very interested in alternatives, I am so upset by the BBC's once again high-handed attitude at not releasing on DVD certain programmes, these don't just include, "It's Not Easy Being Green" but the Natural World "A Farm for the Future" which it seems nobody has or can even give me information on. It was reported on the news last week that HRH Prince Charles was telling Brazilians that he thought that the Amazon Rain Forests would be gone within 100 months – and if anyone is interested, many more people have tried to tell governments of the state that the world is in! Don’t you people understand that oil, therefore petrol and diesel for transport, heating and so much more is not a resource that will be available indefinitely, these are just two of the programmes that may just help a few people to get out of the crisis that we are now in!

We the paying public have already paid to produce this, and want to pay to see it again and again at our own leisure. (stop only releasing the good stuff on Region 1 - tut!)
