Free Alim Abdureyim and Ablikim Abdureyim

When Rebiya Kadeer was elected president of the Uighur American Association in May of 2006, the chinese government confiscated all the financial records of the family business. In June of 2006, her sons Alim Abdureyim and Ablikim Abdureyim, both managing directors of the business, were arrested and tortured in detention. Ablikim Abdureyim was reported to have been taken out of the detention center on a stretcher. Her oldest son Kahar Abdureyim, who had no role in the family business, was arrested for tax evasion.  In secret trials held out of public view, Ablikim Abdureyim was sentenced to 9 years imprisonment; Alim to 7 years. It is widely believed that Ablikim received the harsher sentence because he refused to sign a Cconfession to his crimes.Later in 2007, the family business was confiscated by the chinese government.
