Free Abdulhadi Al Khawaja, Bahraini Human Rights Activist

  • by: Care2.com
  • recipient: King Hamad ibn Isa Al Khalifa
Abdulhadi Alkhawaja is a respected Bahraini human rights activist, and on 8 April 2011 he was beaten and taken away by masked men, likely working for Bahrain's autocratic rulers. Taken along with Abdulhadi Alkhawaja were Wafi Almajed and Hussain Ahmed Hussain.

Bahrain's people have been caught up in the same democratic fervor as Tunisia, Egypt, and Libya. In response, the government of Bahrain responded brutally: cracking down on protestors and inviting Saudi troops to help put down unrest.

The human rights of the people of Bahrain must be respected. Please sign this petition urging King Hamad ibn Isa Al Khalifa to end the violence against them, and to release peaceful protesters and human rights activists, including Abdulhadi Alkhawaja, Wafi Almajed, and Hussain Ahmed Hussain.
