Free Anti-slavery Activists in Mauritania

A group of anti-slavery activists lead by Mr. Biram O. Dah have found a case of domestic slavery in the city of Nouakchott, Mauritania. Two young teen girls were found living and working in a house. The activists called upon the local police to report the case, some arguments toke place, the activists end up arrested, the teen girls found to be hired to work, which is illegal because both girls are under twelve. Slavery is officially abolished in Mauritania, but the laws abolishing it have never been applied, and most freed slaves(by nonofficial statistics 95%) are poor and ignorants, some of them believe they were born to be slaves. There is a lot of work to do, legislation is just the beginning, activist have to be out, working with these population in a healthy environment, we have to respect the rights of these people, and we have to thank them instead of putting them in jail, Please ask the Mauritanian president Mr. Mohamed O. Abdel Aziz to free these activists and to hear what they have to say.
Mr. President,We the under signed, strongly urge you to free the anti-slavery activist Mr. Biram O. Dah and his team. Mr. President, we just remind you that, since your first day in the office, you never stopped promoting the ideas of freedom of speech, and you are known as the president of poor people. Mr. president allow us to tell you that, the abolition of slavery in Mauritania is far from being achieved, every contribution is needed to reach that goal. These young people have a real cause, they need help and empowerment to contribute in making their community better, they shouldn't be in jail, they deserve to be heard and to be helped.Mr. President we believe that you will take our call in consideration, and you will free these activists, and allow them to work in a legal environment by authorizing their organization.
Mr. President thank you very much for taking the time to read this letter.
