Free Jimmie Dean Stohler

Do a google search for "tulsa crossbow killer", and Jimmie's name is going to come up. But if you continue to search for information, the truth is out there. Michelle Powers was child abuser, who gave birth to a child with a man name Bob. This child, Gavin, was horribly abused by Michelle. Due to many friends in the Tulsa Police Department, Michelle was never arrested or incarcerated, even though both Jimmie and Bob were police officers, and were stating they had witnessed the abuse with their own eyes. In 1980, Jimmie quit the TPD, and in 1982 began working for the US Postal Service. The abuse continued. He spoke of it aloud one day in the presence of a man named Butch Ensminger. Butch offered to kill Michelle for five thousand dollars. At first, Jimmie capitulated, but backed out days before anything happened. Days later, at the time of the murder, Jimmie and his wife Kay were eating at Jamil's steakhouse; this was uncontested as Kay provided not only the alibi for Jimmie, but the credit card receipt with her signature. Jimmie, Bob, and Butch were all arrested. Jimmie retained the legal services of Tom Gann, as they had been friends for years. Bob was released with charges dropped after one year, and Butch was to be tried for the murder. Jimmie cooperated with the District Attorney David Moss, who gave the plea agreement that would Jimmie plead guilty to conspiracy to commit murder, and receive a ten year sentence. In 1985, Butch Ensminger was found not guilty of murder, even though his fingerprints were on the weapon. He had been drinking at a bar that evening, dancing and making scenes to ensure that he was well seen. He told some friends he had to use the bathroom, walked outside, got in his car, drove a mile away to the grocery store parking lot where Michelle was getting off work, and shot her in the chest with a bolt from a crossbow. He promptly returned to the bar, and was found not guilty in court because witnesses could not recall the amount of time he was gone, and could not believe their friend would do that. So they told some version of a truth that alcohol helped them perceive. The Tulsa World ran many articles on the murder, and many of those were on the front page. It was front page news when the second of three people arrested was released from custody. For at least a year at this point, attorney Tom Gann began having an affair with his client Jimmie Stohler's wife Kay. Assistant DA David Moss perjured himself when he claimed there was never a plea agreement with Jimmie, though no one but he and Jimmie knew that. In 1987, Jimmie was charged with first degree murder, and Kay had filed for divorce, already living with Tom for two years while Tom continued to represent him. When the jury was given closing arguments, ADA Moss said that so long as Jimmie knew the murder would take place, then he was just as guilty as the person who pulled the trigger. I am not trying to convince you that he pulled the trigger. But IF he knew about it, he might as well have. By the way, Jimmie pled guilty to conspiracy to commit murder five years ago, and it was this very crime. He then informed the jury that they had no choice but to find Jimmie guilty of murder as well. And so they did. Jimmie Dean Stohler has been visited by Gavin, who thanked him for saving his life. While Jimmie originally thought that Ensminger would not follow through and therefore did NOT know about his actions, Gavin still thanks Jimmie for speaking aloud that day in the Post Office. He firmly believes that without Jimmie, Gavin would not exist. Tom Gann married Kay Stohler the same year she divorced Jimmie, and they are still together today. No charges were ever filed against Tom since no one could prove they were together except Jimmie, and who would believe a "murderer"? I encourage you to please sign this petition. Jimmie has no ill will towards Tom and Kay; he only desires his freedom after nearly thirty years. Since incarceration he has been beat up, plotted against, and left for dead by other inmates merely because he was a police officer at one time. Even prison guards have allowed abuse on Jimmie when he was at Dick Connor Correctional Center in 1989. Please help Jimmie achieve his freedom. Thank you.
