Target:
Injustice:  Life without Parole for a minor
Sponsored by:
For More Info. (address, public forums, up-to-date information) visit:  www.freesarakruzan.org

Sara Kruzan, now 31. She was raised in Riverside by her abusive, drug-addicted mother. Sara met her father only three times in her life because he was in prison.

Since the age of 9, Sara suffered from severe depression for which she was hospitalized several times. At the age of 11, she met a 31-year-old man named G.G. who molested her and began grooming her to become a prostitute. At age 13, she began working as a child prostitute for G.G. and was repeatedly molested by him. At age 16, Sara was convicted of killing him. She was sentenced to prison for the rest of her life despite her background and a finding by the California Youth Authority that she was amendable to treatment offered in the juvenile system.  Life without parole means absolutely no opportunity for release, said Senator Yee (of California). It also means minors are often left without access to programs and rehabilitative services while in prison. This sentence was created for the worst of criminals that have no possibility of reform and it is not a humane way to handle children. While the crimes they committed caused undeniable suffering, these youth offenders are not the worst of the worst.

THROUGHOUT THE 16 YEARS OF HER INCARCERATION SARA HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO THINK ABOUT HER LIFE AND WHAT SHE COULD DO TO CHANGE IT. SHE HAS GROWN INTO A BEAUTIFUL YOUNG WOMEN WHO HAS GOALS, DREAMS AND AMBITIONS. RIGHT NOW THE BIGGEST THING FOR SARA IS WISHING, PRAYING & HOPING THAT SOMEONE WOULD TAKE A PROFOUND INTEREST INTO HER CASE SO THAT SHE CAN EVENTUALLY STEP BACK INTO SOCIETY TO BE THE PRODUCTIVE WOMEN THAT SHE IS VERY MUCH CAPABLE OF BEING. ONLY GOD HAS BROUGHT SARA TO THIS POINT IN HER LIFE AND NO MATTER WHAT THERE IS LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL FOR HER.

I'M DEDICATED IN THE FIGHT TO FREE MY DEAR FRIEND SARA KRUZAN, SOMEONE WHO IS VERY MUCH LIKE A SISTER TO ME.  PLEASE SIGN OUR PETITION AS WE FIGHT TO BRING SARA HOME.

She was a child who lacked direction, love, care, and support; she had no guidance. She found what she thought was guidance and unfortunately for her, it was the opposite. She did what she thought was right and although it wasnt, her judgement and mind then was unstable and undeveloped. She deserves a second chance to live and be free.

Please have mercy on her and consider what this man put her through since childhood and abused her so much starting at a young age. Please consider parole for good behavior and understanding the abusive life that she endured that draw her to do what she did.

My family suffered the unjust criminal justice system with my son and I pray and Know in Faith that she will be set free one day because the Lord will be the Judge and man doesn't have the last word our Lord Christ Jesus and the Holy Ghost has, amen.

I am only 30 as well and I made a terrible mistake when I was 18 - I spent almost 6 years in prison and went through so much, I always had the light at the end of the tunell to look forward too. I can not imagine being her with no light. This is inhumane, at 16, she cannot even imagine "life". It is deplorable that we will accept a president that has tried drugs, a loved political figure that drove the car that caused a fatality and give them a second chance, but this girl was a baby - doesn't she deserve one too?

This poor girl. She knows what she did was wrong. She even says taking a persons life cant go without consequence. The judge in this case was out of his/her mind. I cannot believe this happened to her. She literally had zero chance at a life and that's sad.

I believe that Sara Kruzan should be pardoned or eligible for parole. She should not have been sentenced to life in prison for wanting to be free from her abuser. Is it right that she took the law into her own hands no but what other choice did she have. She wasn't being protected by her mother or any other authorities but yet she is condemned for protecting herself. She should be rehabilitated not thrown away. The situations she faced in her life were not choice but of force. It is crazy how one part of her life was taken because of a evil man and now the rest of her life is taken because she no longer wanted to suffer. I hope authorities find it in their hearts to at least give her back what is left of her life. She has truly suffered enough. I offer my deepest sympathies to Sara Kruzan and God bless you.

I feel as though everybody deserves the opportunity to change, this man took advantage of an already mentally and physically abused child and played on her weaknesses. Now of course what she did was wrong, but I thought the purpose of prison was to reform those who can be and make them into up standing citizens, not take a child's life who felt she had no other way of getting out of that situation then to do what she did. If society and the system had done there job in the first place then this child would have been taken out of her mothers home and placed in an atmosphere where she could have a chance, and out of the grasp of that child predator! Free that woman and give her a chance to live!!

It is our duty to be our brothers keeper. Society has turned their backs on our youth & allowed predators to destroy their innocence.

This woman's life was taken from her at the age of 13, but none of that was taken into consideration. It's time to release her and let her live. What on earth is wrong with our justice system....everyday I have less and less faith that the right thing is being done.

I watched Sarah video and it touched and broke my heart. You locked up a LITTLE girl who was ruined by an adult. She acted out to save herself and this is what she gets?? You allow rappist, killers and repeated offenders out on the streets but you lock up a child. That judge should be locked up for such injustice. Sarah deserves her freedom. She has done enough time. GOD BLESS SARAH. You have a lot of love out there. I am embarrassed to see something like this happening in the USA!

She was a child who defended herself against a molesting pimp. Where is the justice for the young girls he victimized?

I have read about Sarah's story and am deeply moved, saddened, and outraged. Yes, it is absolutely wrong to take another's life, but it wasn't without cause. Her childhood was taken from her and she was rightfully absent of "moral scruples." Yes, her actions were wrong...were they warranted, not for me to judge...but to take her entire life away?! There's no justice in that.

Sara was raped and groomed for prostitution by a 31 year old man named G.G. He tortures for a third of her life while he makes a profit off of his crimes against her before she decided to end his life. Now the very system that should have PROTECTED her is now victimizing her with a life sentence. This is NOT justice. Set Sara free!!

So many have asked for a second chance for Sara. Born to a drug addict, abused and used as a child. It seems to me she deserves the first chance at life that she never got. I pray that her case is reviewed and justice be served.

I am horrified that there are still laws like this on the books that allow a judge to sentence a child to life in prison without the possibility of parole. And while I understand that many of these children may continue a life of crime if their convictions are overturned...we may just save the next Albert Einstein. I believe it is worth taking a chance just to save that one that may influence the entire world in a positive manner.

That will become a precedent for every pimp in america now. They're going to feel like they can do whatever they want now since if you try to get out, defend yourself, they can dangle that case to fear you out of leaving. Very smart that judge!

This girl has already spent too much time in jail for this crime. Someone has to save this girl! Why did this judge go so hard on her? After all that she went through that judge took away her freedom forever..I feel that a short prison sentence would have been fair considering what this monster did to her. This girl saved many other girls from being a victim as well. Maybe if this man would have come across the judges daughter and did the things he did to his daughter he would have a little more understanding. This story makes me sick to know that their are judges out there that aren't doing their jobs right. This is wrong and anyone with a heart would see that!

I have seen the video and am totally and udderly shocked. What have we become to sentence our children to die alone in a prison cell. We need to improve on our justice system and rethink our laws. I will do anything in my power to make things happen and hopefully give sarah another chance at life. God bless your soul

The things that she went through at such a young age should be taken into consideration and she should be given another chance. There are child molesters that don't get life in prison and come out and molest and kill children again and again and they are adults those are the ones that should be in prison for life, not a person like her she made a mistake and she paid for it, she lost her childhood not only because the life her mother gave her but at the hands of that scumbag that abused her and took advantage of her inocense, she didn't have anybody ti defend her and didn't know where to go so she had to defend her self. By any means i think she did the right thing but she learned he lesson i think we should give her a chance so she can make a difference in other young girls life. Please, please give her another chance she deserves it. Thanx :)

this is a crying shame, so who gets to pay for what whas done to her????? are you then sending the message that child molestation and prostitution is ok???? While i dont believe in killing, there is only so much a person can endure, so punish her but her childhood has been non-existant from the start and to take away any hope for the future thats more damage than good!!!! FREE SARA i say!!!
