Shuttle transportation (like the casinos have) provided by the city, for citizens of Shreveport

We could decrease several misdemeanor crimes (Public Intoxication, D.W.I.'s (also a felony after the 3rd one), domestic violence, etc.) and also save people's lives.
If area nightclubs/entertainment venues , along with the City(s) combined efforts and provided a shuttle service that runs between each location and provides home pick-up & drop-off. This could be a fee that individuals could choose to pay monthly by subscribing to a plan that would fit their needs.
ex. if a person is out frequently they may choose an option of 15 pick-ups/15-drop offs per month for $100, if individual only goes out twice a month, a fee of $10 would be paid - or something similar that would compensate for milage, gas, hourly pay for driver, etc...
This would also BOOST the economy by giving several drivers jobs, having a responsible, reliable way for folks to actually go out and know they have a way home, and also to the venues because patrons would feel more comfortable going out and spending money if they didn't have to worry about a ride home.

Shreveport, La. we are capable of starting a form of transportation such as this!
We are sick of being harrassed by cops, taking chances driving home after a night out (extremely LOW alcohol content laws), and paying unreasonable prices for a taxi service.

This sounds like a good idea but I dont know that you need a pettion for it. This would be a good thing for people coming formthe same area like a military base or college campus-- or if lots of people werecoming formthe same general area- dont know that it would work for people coming from a wide area.

If we could start utilizing "outside the box" solutions we could advance as a society. This is just one concern that can be handled simply & effectively, that is if the cities politicians think they could survive without the money they make off our mistakes... Let's see if they truly care about us & bring this idea to fruition, for our safety, protection, and as a way to combat the current economical situation.
