Syrian blogger Amina Arraf, who blogs under the name Amina Abdullah and whose blog A Gay Girl in Damascus has readers all over the world, has been missing since Monday night. She and a friend were going to see a person involved with the Local Coordinating Committee when Amina was seized by three armed men. Amina's father has been "desperately trying to find out where she is and who has taken her," Raina writes in an update dated June 6. But, "there are at least 18 different police formations in Syria as well as multiple different party militias and gangs" -- since Amina's family does not know who took her, they "do not know who to ask to get her back." They fear she is being deported or has been imprisoned, or could even have been killed.
We demand that Amina be released immediately. Through her blog, A Gay Girl in Damascus, she is known throughout the world. Her readers and supporters urge you to inform her family of her whereabouts and to release her immediately.
We, the undersigned, ask that you make every effort to secure  the release of Amina Abdulla. She has been missing since Monday night: She and a friend were going to see a person involved with the Local Coordinating Committee when Amina was seized by three armed men. Amina's father has been "desperately trying to find out where she is and who has taken her," Raina writes in an update dated June 6. Thank you very much.
