Freedom Food Exposed - RSPCA won't drop pig abusers

The RSPCA are not there for animal welfare when they go into business with Elmhurst Ltd (Cheale Meats). In July, Animal Aid publically released undercover footage which showed cigarettes stubbed out on pigs’ faces, one animal punched in the head, another goaded in the face, regular blows and kicks, and seriously injured pigs forced to drag themselves to slaughter.

As far as we know, the RSPCA did revoke the accreditation for a short time. However, once out of the media spotlight, the RSPCA Freedom Food scheme has reinstated the accreditation. Whatever the facts and history is, Cheale Meats are as cruel as ever and the RSPCA are allowing them to continue to use their logo.

The Animal Defence Society is calling on the RSPCA to promise to never deal with Cheale Meats in the future. Ask the RSPCA to consider to drop the accreditation by sending them a polite email or letter. You can also call them. Please be polite when communcating with Freedom Foods and the RSPCA.

We the undersigned believe that you should have not reinstated the accreditation of Cheale Meats for your Freedom Food Scheme.

We the undersigned are calling on the RSPCA to do the ethical thing for animals and to cut their ties with Cheale Meats. In July 2011, Animal Aid publically released undercover footage which showed cigarettes stubbed out on pigs’ faces, one animal punched in the head, another goaded in the face, regular blows and kicks, and seriously injured pigs forced to drag themselves to slaughter.

Thank you for taking your time to read our letter and we look forward to hearing from you.
