Get Dolphins out of Las Vegas Mirage "Death Pool"

The Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is home to a dolphin death trap; The Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat. Over 13 dolphins have died in their care, the majority of them being under the age of 20. To put that in perspective, a dolphin in the wild can live up to 45 years old. Despite the many deaths, they continue to replace the dolphins, putting more of these creatures in misery. The dolphin's at the Mirage Hotel are forced to endure weather extremes including dry, hot summers and frigidly cold winters. Also, keep in mind that dolphins are mammals and breathe air just as we do. There for, heating the water in their enclosure will not protect them from the outside temperature. The Mirage Hotel is also located right next to a heavily populated highway. This creates a polluted environment for the dolphins. Many of their dolphins have died of respiratory problems, more likely than not due to the highway congestion. These dolphins deserve better than this. Let's give them a better life!
"No aquarium, no tank in a marine land, however spacious it may be, can begin to duplicate the conditions of the sea. And no dolphin who inhabits one of those aquariums or one of those marine lands can be considered normal." - Jacques Cousteau
We the undersigned believe that the dolphins you currently possess at the Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat are living in unsuitable conditions. They are exposed to extremes that a normal dolphin in the wild would not have to endure, and we feel that many of your dolphin's deaths are a result of this. Seeing as you have had thirteen too many dolphins die in your hands, we would like to request that you do not acquire any more for your habitat and that if those currently in your care who are not able to be released back into the wild be given to a facility who can provide proper living conditions. We also ask you to please consider that under most circumstances, dolphins are animals that are simply not fit for life in captivity. These creatures can swim hundreds of miles and dive hundreds of feet each day. No ordinary enclosure, if any enclosure can begin to imitate a dolphins natural habitat in the sea, as it very rarely remains the same. According to scientific studies, dolphins live a significantly shorter life in captivity than in the wild. Seeing as you direct the Dolphin Habitat at Mirage Hotel and Casino, I can only hope that you have the dolphin's best interest in mind and that upon hearing this will consider our request. Thank you very much for your time.
