Recently an automaker in the U.S. sued the state of California because the citizens of the state expressed through their votes that they desired higher MPG standards for the automobiles in their state.
This seems to me to be undemocratic and against the will of the voters in the state of California
If a majority of the voters in the state of California are Christians....is suing the state of California to stop the will of the voters anti-Christian?
Would each state having their own MPG standards be too much of a burden for the American auto makers to adjust to?
If so, what would be the solution to this dilemma?
Maybe the federal government could have been more proactive concerning MPG standards in the first place before this issue became a crisis of democracy.
This petition calls for the democratic will of the citizens of the state of California to be respected by GM and for GM's lawsuit against the state of California to be dropped.
We the undersigned agree that a private company using the courts to sue the state of California seems to go against the grain of democracy in America and we wish to see the lawsuit against the state of California be dropped in respect for the people of California who desire and voted for cleaner air and greener cars.
