Because of a recent three-part series appearing online, there has been a renewed energy to petition President Bush for clemency on behalf of Clarence Aaron. Please consider spreading this petition to your friends and family!
Remember, Clarence had no prior convictions and was just shy of completing his college degree!
Clarence Aaron has been in a maximum security prison for 15 years. Without your help to garner attention to this miscarriage of justice Clarence will serve the remainder of his life in a federal prison. Clarence Aaron was charged and convicted of conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine. Clarence is serving three consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole.
There were NO drugs produced into evidence at either of Clarence's trials. Furthermore, the conviction was the result of testimony by admitted drug dealers who were able to secure a favorable deal with prosecutors for their assistance. Prior to this conviction, Mr. Aaron had no previous criminal record. Clarence received a harsher sentence than some rapists, child molesters, or murderers.
Before the conviction, Clarence was months from college graduation and a star football athlete on a scholarship and majoring in marketing. Even if his conviction were just, Clarence no longer deserves to be incarcerated. Those who played a major role in the alleged conspiracy received much lighter sentences and have already been released. In fact, the role Clarence played was nothing more than facilitaing a meeting between the two parties. Clarence has acknowledged his behavior was misguided, nonetheless no public interest is advanced by the further incarceration of Clarence Aaron. I urge you to add your name to this online petition, so that the signatures can be presented to President G. Bush in consideration of Clarence Aaron's petition for a commutation of his sentence, so he can complete his education and rejoin his family while contributing to the community as a productive citizen.

Clarence Aaron deserves a second chance at a normal life. I guarantee he will never make this mistake again. His two consecutive life sentences are ridiculous considering the role he played in this particular case.

President Bush, this is so outrageous. This drug war is way out of hand, it only effects the most disenfranchised of our Country. President Bush, please let this young man go. I am a mother of 3 son and they all are incarcerated for possession and nothing they have done to lock up too many Americans have stopped the flow of drugs in America. How long are we going to be at war against our citizens. This is a crying shame!

Mr.Bush let this foolish young man free. After all he was only a middle man in the dealings that YOU used to enjoy so much yourself, remember?....Oh that was just COCAINE. (My bad) He has already served 14 years to many, far more then the real guilty parties. Besides if you want the American people to go easy on you when you're tried as a war criminal, you better start to do the right thing now, just to let us know you are not a total scum bag.

I went to high school with Clarence "Snoop" Aaron; I hate he trusted those friends that put him this situation. I know he was a great person and still is, there are real criminals that are walking the streets now. I pray that he will be released before Bush term ends. Please allow him to get what's left of his life back. Clarence, I will continue to keep you in my prayers. Lynette Class of 88

Please Mr. Bush, you must put a stop to these excessively long prison sentences for someone who is non-violent and leave the prison system for those who truly need to be removed from society.

PLEASE show compassion for this young man and commute his sentence to TIME SERVED! There are many other violent repeat offenders that can take his place in prison. Get them off the streets and let Clarence come home to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Mandatory sentencing is an atrocity, As shown in cases such as Mr. Aaron's. What you wind up with is child molesters getting out of prison earlier than people who are convicted of selling drugs. It is called a conspiracy by the govwernment, i ask you George a conspiracy against what? America? I think not. Most people convicted of drug crimes are mearly trying to make money, and in this capitalistic society where the "haves" run the country and the rest of us are left to fight for the scraps, isn't making money what it is all about. Here is an Idea George tax the drug dealers legitimimzing their trade and controlling it, and most importantly regulating it so there would be no need to kill for the drugs, or to sell fake drugs killing or doing damage to the drug user. These "drug dealers" are American's, they have families and are people. Our family unit in america is being destroyed by the war on drugs, because in reality it is a war on americas poor, and destitute, and diseased. When really as Americans we should all stick together and lift one another up. Instead the Government fills its jails and the pockets of the rich. Whilke depleating the families of America and keeping the poor fighting amongst themselves so as they dont notice the rich people of the land monopolizing the resources of our once great, now fallen Nation. There are so many reasons to grant Clemency to all drug offenders, but in Mr. Aarons case, he has clearly served his share of the sentence for the victimless crime that was commited, The hman who set fire to my wifes and then both of my neighbors cars got off with less than a month served and probation, and his intent was to do physical damage to myself or my family, i ask you which is worse endangering the lives of my two young children, by setting cars on fire in the middle of the night hoping to burn us in our sleep, if the houses were to catch on fire from the cars proximity, or is it worse to try and earn a little bit of money by distributing narcotics to people who are activly seeking them out because they have a disease called addiction?

Probably one of the worse case scenarios of American IN-JUSTICE! Clarence is yet another scapegoat in the forgotten "War on Drugs." FACT FYI: Clarence NEVER smoked a cigarette, has NEVER been drunk on alcohol and has NEVER taken nor been involved with selling "drugs!" FACT.

This is very sad, you would think this was not in america. How can a system call itself "just", when someone like Mr.Aaron gets the sentence he got and a self-confessed drug-dealer and three other dealers/criminal offenders do less than ten(10) years combined?

MAY JUSTICE RING IN CLARENCE'S CASE. IT DOESN'T TAKE THREE LIFE SENTENCES FOR SOMEONE TO LEARN FROM THEIR MISTAKE. WE ALL FALL SHORT OF OUR DAILY PRAYERS BUT CAN THERE BE JUSTICE SERVED WITH ALL PRAYERS.

It's time to take a stance against injustice in our country's legal especially in the South. Alabama has a lot of unfortunate inmates in the same situation due to shoddy legal teams and bloodthirsty prosecuters and it's time to put a stop to just jailing someone because you need someone to blame for the poor shape our society is in.
