Automobile Evolution

Green Cars--Giving up the ghost of oil past

Target:
green, oil dependence, fossil fuels, politics, dnc, rnc,
Just wanted to do a quick survey to see if people are getting as frustrated as we are in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  Gas prices are through the roof and still no end in sight ($3.94 for regular unleaded).

If an affordable alternative was presented and the government gave families vouchers (much like the programs to improve education), I wondered if people would move away from fossil fueled automobiles.

Here is an example of what is currently available for sale--a very sporty, electric car--I also found family cars and trucks readily available.  The price is prohibitive for most of us.

Currently, the major manufacturers of todays vehicles are loosing money; new automobiles are staying on dealers lots and fuel economy is only a myth unless citizens can walk, bike or car pool.

Please add your voice by signing this petition to make automobile manufactures, politicians and others realize that we DEMAND alternatives.

We the undersigned are getting frustrated as gas prices are through the roof and still no end in sight ($3.94 for regular unleaded here in the U.P. of MI).

If an affordable alternative was presented and the government gave families vouchers (much like the programs to improve education), I wondered if people would move away from fossil fueled automobiles.  Here is you chance to tell government officials that we mean what we say!

Zero emissions vehicles that rely on renewable energy sources (wind, solar) make far more sense than using one that runs on some outdated form of fuel that you know is going to run out in a few years. Plus, it is one of the worst things we are doing to the planet and to ourselves. I want a good electric car! No more oil! No more gas! No more emissions! Stop global warming!

The environment and families would benefit by being able to have affordable, alternative fueled transportation. If a family did not have to spend as much on fuel they would be able to focus on other items, housing, food, education. The oil companies are greedy and do not want to loose their outrageous incomes. I think it is time for the oil companies to be "outsourced" and bring on the affordable fuel alternative vehicles.

Our dependance on fossil fuels hasnt done any favors. Increased prices is not fair. This tells me that the supply for these fuels is running low. But its not right to keep hush hush about it. I would like to see an alternative to fosil fuels because sooner or later we all will have to deal with it, even the governments. But I don't want the alternatives derived from animal bodies (I bet some of you didnt about know that i.e: animal fats). The new green fuels currently in development are still a way off yet but I do not want them to destroy forests in the process because of our demand for fuel. Indeed it is a very difficult situation one that needs thorough study and planning.
