We, the students and faculty of City College of San Francisco (CCSF) Green Corps* call for the implementation of sustainability through course work! The latest science tells us that time is running out to mitigate the effects of pollution, resource depletion, and climate change.
Community Colleges are well placed to lift us out of the environmental and economic crisis by training the next generation of green industry workers. As CCSF prepares to launch a green job training program we call for the use of CCSF campuses as on-site labs to train our students for careers in the green economy. This will implement much needed green upgrades for our college as well as give students marketable skills, such as solar panel installation, energy and water audits, waste management and sustainable, native landscaping. Our campus will become a healthy and green center of education for the 21st century while training future green collar workers.
Please join us in calling on our campus community to come together to develop curriculum which implements sustainability at our college!

WE MUST LIVE IN A STATE OF CONSTANTLY BEING AWARE OF WHAT IS HAPPENING TO OUR PLANET.. OR WE WILL SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGE THE DEATH OF HUMAN POPULATIONS AROUND THE WORLD.. The animals and Green Environment were here before Man, and they will inherit the earth after we are gone.. DO WE WANT TO BE GONE NOW, or later on after we've tried all we can try, to make a difference, encourage others, and live environmentally sustainable as well as socially responsible... It's imperative that the lakes, rivers, ravines, oceans and all wet-lands, be cleaned and saved for the people & animals who use them and as heritage to the generations to come!! There's a little Green Job to give people.. Oh ya Green Jobs? Going Green? Going Gangrene is what it is.. It’s not just about putting on a green jacket and continuing to work and live like we have.. But it’s to bad it seems as though that’s the way it is.. While something small is turning a little green, there’s something else (somewhere else) turning even more tar-black and toxic filled.. The Governments will continue to allow the destruction of family, of planet, of animals, and the poison of people.. Radio Active & Toxic Foods, Water, Diseases, Products, and particles in the air to ingest when we breath, UNTIL WE SCREAM LOUD ENOUGH FOR THEM TO STOP PISSING ON US ALL WITH THEIR TOXIC ADDICTIONS!! (The perfect receipt for Corporate & Government Profit)… PLEASE NO MORE ALREADY - BUSH HAS DONE SO MUCH DAMAGE so; We Need Solar Powered Everything, if they’re not powered by Windmills.. Solar and Windmills and Non-Gasoline Cars.. No Nuclear! No More Dumping In Great & Precious Lakes, rivers, and oceans.. No more Plastic Bags or Styrofoam products shipped all over the world… No More BLOODY SLAUGHTER of Precious Animals, No More Animal Clothing & Leather Shoes & Accessories, No more Palm oil products of deforestation AS WELL AS Plant and Animal Murder.. No more animal tested surgical procedures and products for humans.. No more raising animals for food, NO MORE PESTISCIDES, NO MORE FERTALIZERS, No more War on Marijuana, or War Period.. San Francisco is a progressive city that needs to set standards for the rest of California and Nation. As I am currently studying environmental sociology, I'm seeing that the economic crisis and the environmental crisis are intimately intertwined. It's no coincidence that these challenges are occurring simultaneously. In a world where a still bourgeoning human population increasingly threatens to trigger global land and marine ecosystems collapse, due to its insatiable appetites for food, resources, consumer products, and energy, the urgency for teaching a new vision in which all of us live within our environmental means, respecting the earth, ourselves, and the peoples of other nations, becomes the top priority if we hope to survive even the next 50 years. As one of the largest academic institutions in the country, CCSF is being negligent in the extreme if it does not only provide technical training for the green industries we'll need to quickly rebuild our infrastructures (into low impact sustainable ones), but also if it fails to teach this vision, this new way of life, in all of its other areas of academic instruction as well. What we are facing, is an immediate and lethal global crisis; to which CCSF MUST be forced to IMMEDIATELY respond by infusing these principles, globally, into all of its areas of instruction, administration, and operations. Shame on us for taking so long!

Environmental technology is a burgeoning field with limitless possibilities. If CCSF wants to be a student-centered college, we need to push programs that are practical and beneficial.
