We the American People ask that America's Grocery Stores stop putting food into dumpsters that could instead be used for the hungry and poor. We call upon the Grocery Stores of America to contact the organizations that work with the hungry and poor of their area and donate the food rather than putting it into dumpsters. And we call upon the American citizens to stop shopping at Grocery Store Chains who refuse to donate food and continue to put it into dumpsters. If you agree with the above please sign our petition now and please ask all your friends to also. Thank you.

I think it's a shame how much food is actually wasted. One time I asked a fast food place why they threw away all their food. Their reply is: it wasn't safe: Oh yeah, my reply is, they could of froze it till it got where it was supposed to!

Please donate all unwanted food to soup kitchens and food banks. Or give them to the homeless on the street. They will eat it! Many people are starving out there. Food should be eaten not dumped in garbages.

My dad use to get grapes that a store would throw away because some had dried up he made alot of grape jelly out of them as a truck driver i have seen all kinds of good stuff from lumber to over the counter drugs and mouthwash that was still good thrown away knowing that they were still useable for the poor and homeless we should have a nation wide boycott against these places that place profit above giving away the good stuff that they would rather throw away then to help someone who cannot afford to buy them

This is the most shameful practice in America!! These huge corporations MUST wake up and help the people in the communities that keep them in business. They CANNOT use the excuse that they could be sued if they donated out-of-date goods and someone got sick, as most states have laws to protect them from such claims. The most wasteful of all companies, as it is the biggest, is Wal-Mart!! I have a petition directed to their CEO at: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/2/stop-walmart-waste

stop putting good food in the dumpsters, if you can not find it in your heart to donate it to help the hungry people, please reduce the food to where people can afford to buy it so they may go donate it. people and animals all over are going hungry this is sad. i do not know how some people sleep at night knowing they did not help someone.

Grocery executives (and Walmart, Aldi, etc)that refuse to just give up what they consider "trash" to help starving Americans can be sure that my business will be directed elsewhere I will drive to stores that cooperate(such as Food Lion, Winn Dixie, etc.) because they DESERVE my business!

I run a local soup kitchen in my area, we have asked walmart about this and they said they do not want to be responsible for someone getting sick this is why they don't donate the food...hmmmm says a lot for what they sell!!!

Our Black Mountain Community garden works hard to raise organic fruits and vegetables for food banks, soup kitchens, and catholica charities. How dare these corporations throw away food when so many are suffering right here is America.

Manna Food Bank, local churches and charities would be happy to take the food and distribute it to those who need it. I'm sure that they would even provide pick up. There is NO EXCUSE not to do this.

It is appalling to me how much food is thrown away every day, even food that is perfectly OK such as boxed pasta dinners, etc. In these times, wastefulness should not be tolerated.

There should be laws against companies dumping food that could be used by the homeless/hungry/poor. Grocery stores of America, please reconsider your policy regarding this wasteful practice.

There is to many people out here that does not have food to eat, and Walmart would rather throw good food in the trash. That is a shame. Walmart is always saying what they do for area, well I guess we all see now what you do for the area, when old people and children go to bed hungry and you have the capability to do something about it. You should be ashamed. I will think twice before shopping with you again!!
