This petition is to stop the executions scheduled for August. No matter your personal thoughts and feelings on the death penalty, there are enough significant errors in the system to call for its abolishment. For more information please see the above website. We the undersigned,
Hope that you take the time to at least read this letter in its entirety
before disregarding it. As you can see, this petition is signed by a
number of citizens both locally and nationally, as well as globally.
We have taken the time to bring our concerns to you, and at the very
least, hope and pray that you will at the very least hear our voices.
We are writing to ask you to please halt the following executions:

Regardless of whether you philosophically support the death penalty,
there are NUMEROUS reasons why the system is not working and should be
halted in its current state to avoid committing further injustices and
tragedies.
There will be a 2009 Death Penalty Report that is currently being put
together by: Abolish the Death Penalty Now!, which is a thorough,
extensive research/analysis of all these issues... you will be getting a
copy of this Report. At the very least, put off this execution until
you have had the time to read this report.
Please care enough about life and doing the right thing to consider this
request, do not bow to political pressures... but be willing to do the
right thing. Like someone once told me, It may not always easy to do
what's right, but it is ALWAYS right...
