Handling of Animals at Mason County Animal Shelter

  • by: S. Jett

A dog warden is suppose to look after the county's animal welfare as well as work to find strays homes. Mason County has a warden that does neither. Buddy Gallenstien has stated that animal welfare groups are making things sound worse than they are. But, who would you believe, the word of two men, or the words of many? There have been people go to the shelter to rescue animals to find the vet there early putting animals to sleep as they beat on the door to let them in.
Why do all area shelters have a Petfinder.com account except for Mason County?
Why have male and female animals been kept in the same cage? (Pictures have been taken of this)
A change needs to be made. Let your voice be heard. Let Buddy Gallenstien know that you don't like what is going on at Mason County Animal Shelter and that a new Warden is needed.

We the undersigned want the conditions and care, or lack there of, the animals  to change at Mason County Animal Shelter. There have been a few that have come to you with their concerns. It didn't seem to do any good. So, now we come to you with the voice of many. This should prove that it isn't just the voice of a few "crazies".
People have spoken and feel it is time for a new warden . They want one that will abide by the state laws and show some respect to the people and animals that he/she comes into contact with on a daily basis.
They want the animals to have every oppertunity to have a good home and life.
Animals are not disposable and shouldn't be treated that way.
