HARDCORE SPORTS RADIO WANTS UFC IN ONTARIO

Target:
MMA Enthusiasts, UFC Fans and all Hardcore Sports Fans

Why do we need your signature?

Currently the UFC is barred from having any events in certain States in the US and Provinces in Canada.  Certain laws state that while boxing and kickboxing are both legal.

MMA is deemed an illegal act. Statistics show that deaths in boxing FAR outnumber those in MMA.

If health is not an issue, we really think that MMA should be in play for all of Hardcore Country.

WE have no boundaries and neither should MMA.

This petition has no limits and neither should MMA. We will help move the cause forward to lift the ban in all states and provinces.

Specific Information Regarding the Ontario Debate:
With UFC 83 set for Quebec, it is believed that Ontario would also be a ideal site for a future MMA event and specifically a UFC event. Below you will be able to read and find out WHY this is currently not possible.

"A boxing contest between amateur sportsmen, where the contestants wear boxing gloves of  not less than one hundred and 40 grams each in mass, or any boxing contest held with the permission or under the authority of an athletic board or commission or similar body

established by or under the authority of the legislature of a province for the control of sport within the province, shall be deemed not to be a prize fight."

MMA is a great sport, it's growing in popularity, and Ontario should be part of it.

The athletic commission is living in the dark ages and should be looking at legalizing this sport because that is what it is a sport which is legalized in all of canada except for PEI and Ontario as well as the city of Vancouver..

Kansas City has recently opened up the Sprint Center in Downtown KC, MO and has had a lot of success with the Big 12 Tournament. The entire area is booming and would be a great place for an event. Also the MMA community is growing, their are smaller shows held around town, and Randy & Bas' Gym just opened up in the area

This isn't Bloodsport, there's no Van Damme, this is sports pure and simple. Canada is supposed to be a country of independent thinking and understanding, none of which is being shown by a few misinformed people in Ontario.

Ken Hayashi is all about tae kwon do, once mma is legal in ontario there will be no more tae kwon do. he knows this and this is why he won't budge on this issue. lets hope WE can do something about this.

Please bring this sport to my province! The days of no-limit spectacle are gone. Mixed martial arts has evolved. It's time for the provincial sanctioning body to do the same

i am a huge fan of ufc. I'm female and I don't participate in Martial arts, but I watch every ufc event on pay per view. I don't understand why it is banned in Ontario and I would like to see that change.

It's time for Ken Hayashi to wake up. He's already practically killed boxing in Ontario and now he wants to do the same with MMA before it even gets a chance. It stems from the laziness of him and the Ontario Athletic Commission staff. Do the research, get the facts and stop being so stubborn. Give them a chance to present their case before you strike it down. The safety record is proven throughout the world and you need to stop being so self-righteous as to say that it has to prove itself here first. How would you propose that if they can't put on events here?

How can you justify a ban on MMA but allowing Boxing, Kickboxing and Wrestling? It is legal here in the UK and most of America, i think its about time the rest get out of the dark ages and make the safer MMA legal everywhere. I'm sure you will be quick to realise the benefit of legalisation as soon as the money begins to roll in!

I think u should bring UFC to Alberta it would be wiked because jason "dooms" day could have so many of his fans there hwho other wise wouldnt be able to come... It would also be sweet for other people who are in MMA to watch the "pros" fight...

MMA, specifically the rules set by the UFC in my opinion, is extremely well balanced offering exciting fights without being excessively violent.
