Harper's killer is about to have her day in court.  After  no show appearances, dates being rescheduled and so on we are hoping that the judge sticks with the trial begining September 1st -3rd.   This defendant for some reason has failed to appear in court and  the judge refused to punish her because... get this... he said the punishment for failure to appear would be harsher than killing Harper and he refused to do it!  This is injustice if there ever was!  When she or her attorney are too busy to show up to court it is rescheduled.  This whole situation from the begining has been handled wrong and this defendant has been given a pat on the shoulder the whole way.  The way she has been treated has made thousands in this community and worldwide sick!  We need to stay vigilant and if you can stand with us and appear in court we ask that you do!  Please don't stand by and let her get away with the horrendous killing of poor sweet innocent Harper!

NEXT COURT DATE IS August 24th @ the Prescott Courthouse @ 10:30 am for a pre-trial hearing.  The actual trial starts at the same courthouse on September 1st through the 3rd.   VOICES NEED TO BE HEARD.  THIS JUDGE DOESN'T SEEM TO CARE.

Please contact the mayor's office, the Judge presiding over the case, and the prosecuting attorney and voice your opinions... PLEASE!  Help Harper find peace.

Please help Harper now that she is in heaven. Here's Harper's story:
Harper was rescued at the age of about 2 weeks.  Her mother and siblings were strays that someone found at our local VA hospital.  Our rescue was contacted and a foster home found that took in the whole bunch.  The mother was too young for kittens and the kittens had to be bottle fed.  Harper and siblings were hand raised in a house with dogs, other cats and a ton of kids.  Needless to say she was VERY social.  At the age of approximately 6-7 months she was adopted by the defendant.  Within a few weeks her foster home got the call that she was BRUTALLY beaten to death by her new owner and that they were trying to file charges.  Charges were brought and dropped.  Eventually they were brought again.  We have had to fight what we see as her getting special treatment all along.  We hope and pray that when our day in court comes she is seen for what she has done and facts hold up rather than her family connections.  Again if you can come please come, if not please forward this to everyone you know.  Laura King needs to be held responsible for what she has done and this judge needs to know that we are watching and we will not tolerate this special treatment she has recieved.

Please sign this petition now and help spread the word to those you know who would like to help us help Harper in heaven.

Thank you.

Also:  Harpers' sister Harlow is still looking for her forever home!  Her foster mom is picky since this incidence.  If you are looking for a wonderful cat please consider adopting Harper's sister!  They look almost identical!

We the undersigned:

Believe that Harper needs our help now that she is in heaven.  Animals like Harper don't have a voice to protect them, which is why it is our responsibility to make sure her killer is punished and laws are refined to protect the other helpless animals out there in the world.
Harper was a 6-month-old kitten that was brutally beaten a few weeks after her adoption. Her adoptive owner beat her and left her to suffer and die an agonizing death. How would you feel if this was your pet?  How would you feel if this was your family member?
Support for Harper is necessary and vital since she does not have a voice. This petition shows government and those in charge of prosecuting animal abusers that they have to do something besides turn a blind eye to this behavior by inhumane savages.

The woman responsible for Harper's death and beating was arrested but charges were later dropped.  Eventually she was recharged and is now awaiting trial.  Our government officials have not asked for her to not own animals in the mean time.  She is actually allowed to still adopt animals and probly will.  This is unacceptable and needs to be stopped immediately. Animal abuse is too common and needs to stop now.

You can view Harper's video at:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kW5eEG6xAWI

Harper was well loved before being adopted by this savage.  Her foster family is devastated by this.  Please help stop people that prey on innocent animals such as Harper!  It is proven time and again that this type of abuse later leads to domestic violence on children and spouses.  It has also been documented in sociopathic serial killers.  It may be a kitten this time but if she goes unpunished who's next?

Thank you for taking the time to show compassion for animals without a voice. Please help protect them in all possible ways within your powers.

It is time we realize that hurting animals is the first step for people who will eventually hurt humans. These poor defenseless animal rely on their human companions for help and it is time that we hold those who harm God's creatures to the highest standard and punsihment. Today a sweet dog or cat and tomorrow, a person.

Well well well...it looks like she is guilty after all. Laura has pleaded guilty to #1)Animal Cruelty (1charge) #2) Cruel Mistreatment (1count) and 3) Disorderly Conduct (1 count). They are all felonies but we think the disorderly conducts were misdemeanors. So no trial.....She willl still have to appear in court for her sentencing which will be very important for us to all be there. Sentencing is on October 5th at 1:30. I think the person who defended her on here and said that she was NOT guilty should also appear in court to hear her sentencing. A kitten does not just fall into a bathtub and die. This was a pure act of evilness. Laura is evil. Looks like this Laura monster will finally get what she deserves. Whatever the sentence, she has now pleaded guilty. DUH!!!!!!! MONSTER!!!!!!!!! I think she will pay big time throughout her pathetic life. LAURA IS AN ANIMAL KILLER......PURE AND SIMPLE. This label should be branded on her body so everyone can see it. All over it so she cannot hide from it. Animal Killer...Laura....Animal Killer who beat an innocent kitten to death...Animal killer. I think I like this idea!!!!!!! So with this on her whole entire body wherever she goes people will know just exactly what she did FOREVER!!!!!!!!!

Sadly it is too late for Harper to live in a loving, caring home, but Harper's sister Harlow is STILL looking for her forever home. Harlow is a sweet cat who absolutely adores dogs, so a home with an indoor dog is a must! Click on The Lucky Club's website (we are in Prescott AZ) at www.luckyclub.petfinder.com if you are interested in adopting Harlow. All Lucky Club cats must be indoor cats.

I believe that do on to others as you'd expect them to do un to you goes for any living creature. If it would have been a human being things would have been completely different what people need to understand is that cruelty is cruelty and a life is a life no matter how big or small, and no one should have the power to take that.

This person deserves to pay for her actions. Their is no reason any animal nor human should be beaten to death. Animal cruelty leads to human cruelty and this needs to be addressed NOW. Animals do not have a voice and Harper did not ask this person to adopt her.

Animal cruelty is already upsetting to me, and if someone is willing to abuse and kill an animal, than they're one step closer to killing and abusing a person. Animal abusers are murderers in the making. If we dont stop them now, they'll be out of control later. Harper's story really hit me hard when I noticed her adoption date. The day she was adopted was my 17th birthday. I didnt even know Harper, and already I have a connection with her, and she deserves justice. I am willing to stand up for the voiceless.

Since the beginning of man, suffering consequences for our actions has proven to be the most effective way of transforming human behavior. By refusing to allow Laura to suffer the consequences for her bad behavior... whether it be refusing to appear in court, inhumanely killing an innocent animal for perverted pleasure, or blatantly denying her involvement in a poor decision.... I believe that you are doing Laura a huge disservice. You have been given an opportunity to help Laura now, before her condition worsens. The next time you see or hear about her it might not be an animal she has chosen to abuse. What then will you say to the next person who stands before you and knows in their heart, you could have made a difference? You have the authority to help change a life today. Please do not throw that opportunity away.

Shame on Judge Hess. The penalty for not appearing in court has nothing to do with the penalty of the underlying charge. She apparently believes she is above the law and does not have to appear when summoned and the judge supports this. It is a well established fact that serial killers start out as "animal cruelists". Is he waiting for the death of a child?

Please don't endorse animal cruelty! There's a case in Phoenix I recently hear about about a woman being prosecuted for her dogs barking. Although they never mentioned it to her, they went straight to the courts and found their so-called justice. What makes it not okay for an animal to make noise but a human can murder one?! That is so wrong - please let there be some justice!

People like this cannot be allowed to get away with such inhumane cruelty. Not only should this person be severely punished, but we need to send a clear message to others. It is unfathomable to me how anyone could hurt, to the point of killing, an adorable, innocent animal. PLEASE see that justice is served to help prevent further horrible cruelties such as this. If this was a child everybody would be seeking the fullest punishment. Animals are innocent and should be protected just like an innocent children. What is the community saying by letting this go unpunished?
