Houston: Sequoyah County Sheriffs Deputies Thursday arrested Reuben Houston, 26, of Vian pending charges of animal abuse.

According to Sheriff Ron Lockhart deputies responded to a call of an injured horse, south of Vian.

According to Lockhart, Houston told the deputies that he was upset because the horse kept getting out of the pasture, so he drug the horse down a paved road behind an ATV.

The report said the horse was so severely injured that a veterinarian was called to euthanize the horse. A neighbor found the horse tied to a tree.

The horse’s injuries include a severely damaged eye, protruding from the socket and large areas of flesh ripped open on the shoulder, over the ribs and near the hip and flank.

Houston was booked into the Sequoyah County Jail in Sallisaw.

The poor horse was humanely put out of his misery by a vet.

Thank you Becca for suggesting that we name this boy JUSTICE ... in his honor we will not stop seeking just that!

The laws have got to be reviewed, and changed - stiffer penalties, both financial and legal.

The Internet is sharing this story worldwide, and EVERYONE is watching ... waiting ... what will you do to make a positive difference?

You were elected to your position by the people, and now, WE the PEOPLE, are asking you to act in the very best interests of these helpless, defenseless animals.
