Help cut health and dental costs for senior citizens

Help cut health and dental costs for senior citizens

Target:
The President
Sponsored by:
It is a shame that in these times our senior citizens can not afford the high costs of medications, health or dental care. There are to many of them out there who are faced with choices when it comes down to care of how are they going to afford this.

When senior citizens reach retirement age and are living on social security the deducible for medicare is high and there is no real dental coverage.  Also any time you get an increase in your SSI benefits they take out more for your medicare and do not even offer you any better coverage. Then they have to rely on sublemental health insurnace coverages and some are discount plans which is like going to a high dollar store with a 3.00 off coupon.

Please sign this petition and ask our president to provide our senior citizens with a health, prescription, eye care and dental plan coverages  that would be afforable to all.

We the undersigned would love for you to help out the senior citizens of the United States. As you may know, there are so many of our senior citizens out there unable to get proper medical care since they are living on fixed incomes. Some senior for go getting medical care which could save their lives because they can not afford to do so.  While others live in unbearable conditions just so they can afford some health care or prescriptions.

It is harder for the seniors who live on SSI because if their benefits increase so does their deduction for payment towards medicare.  Also some senior citizens who make a certain income on SSI are considered to be recieving to much money to get any supplemental help from the goverment.

Please, Mr. preseident, help our senior citizens by making a bill to help promote better health, eye, dental, and precription coverages avavilable to them with a low deductible and no or very low co pay.

I have an ill senior citizen who is my father and he has worked so damn hard building houses in Canada and all he has to show for it now are his teeth and pain. He suffers from Diabetes and has to take insulin for the rest of his life and due to that illness he has been told that he must remove all his teeth or he will get an awful infection but my parents cannot afford to pay for this. I am asking for someone to please give me a solution to my dad's situation PLEASE.

My grandmother is a great woman and has always done for me growing up. I am not in a position to be able to financially help her right now and I watch every day her teeth get worse and worse. I wish someone would please help me help her get her mouth fixed.

It's pretty sad that my Grandmother has to pay over $100.00 for more than three bottles of medicine that she HAS to have. She cannot live without taking this medicine, and I think it's pathetic that the costs are so high. For senior citizens esspesially .

dental care should be part of health care for everyone. there are programs for children but not for adults without dental insurance. Many of us on disabilty/SS retirement cannot afford insurance or out-of-pocket dental care and so are living with dental problems. Gum disease affects the whole body, that bacteria gets into the blood stream making us higher risk for heart attacks, strokes, and complications from even minor surgery.

When I started my non-profit to support low-income seniors with no dental insurance the demand was huge. Right now I am submitting a grant to hire a staff to help manage the need. My county (Pierce County, WA) wants me to expand my coverage of service, this act would stretch me beyond my ability to help the seniors in need. Plus the seniors I have met who are DSHS recipients are being turned away from DSHS clinics because the work they need done is beyond their ability or they the clinic charge beyond the financial capability of that senior citizen. Majority of the seniors I service incomes average $825 if they have an expense over $100s they could not afford to pay. I made it my mission to raise funding to have two dental vans to go into our senior community to provide the basic dental care they need. So please petition the government to open their wallets to help financial support grants to help organizations like myself to help seniors in need of dental care. Thank you Brenda Milewski (253) 380-5263 P.S. call me if you have any questions or would want to see our video clip of our grand opening providing dental care for seniors. Our campaign is called: "Give a Smile of Love." under Fountain of Life Wellness Center.

I paid into Social Security all my life and thought that when i retired, I would be able to live fairly well.. HA. HA...that was a joke. Now I am 65, disabled and having dental problems. There is no one out there that helps us..I just want to know WHY...We deserve better than this from our country and the government. What do we need to do to fix these problems for the elderly.. Surely there is someone who cares. This is really a depressing thing for Seniors. No wonder we don't care if we live all that long...It's too expensive.

I am very upset with the cost of dental bills...as a person on social security I cannot afford this cost...we must have this problem solved. Medicare should include the whole body..teeth included.

This topic is personally important to me and to a friend. I know first hand about the choices seniors have to make regarding meds, healthcare or food. My friend and I skimp on groceries to pay for meds. Two meals a day. Neither of us qualify for foodstamps or state assistance, Ha, we make too much.....I can get State medicaid after I spend 253.00 out of pocket ...monthly...After I pay for the necessities to live, ie rent, utlities, gas to go to the doctor and to look after my 95 yr old mother, buy what I can at the grocery store and pay copays for office visits and meds, there isn't money left to try save for taxes or anything else. My friend's teeth are rotting out because of the meds he is on...but there is no help for dental care. Now he has to figure out a way to come up with a $200.00 copay for painmanagement so he can get help getting weaned off prescription narcotics that he has taken for chronic pain of Diabetic Neuropathy. I don't know how he will get the money for it but the new doctor he is seeing says the meds are killing him.....

We must help the Seniors, it's not fair.. Please provide your senior citizens with a health prescription, eye care, dental plan & operation coverage that would be affordable to all. Or of course you can go one step further and make it free for them like they deserve...

This letter is important to me because I currently have no medical coverage. I'm 64 years of age, forced into retirement due to job lay-off (though yet trying I have not found another job) and now I'm faced with a serious extensive dental problem and I really do not know if loosing all of my teeth is the only alternative that I have to stay healthy and have quality of life.

Institute a Single Payer- Medicare For ALL- which would provide health care for all Americans. With a Single Payer health care plan eye care, dental, prescriptions, and all health care, including alternative therapies such as acupuncture would be included. SUPPORT HR 676- Single Payer. Remove the greedy HMO's, insurance/pharmaceutical industries from the equation, and more than $350 billion will be saved up front, and, new jobs will be created. Health care is a right, not a privilege for only those who can afford to pay.

Because of my mom and friends and I'm getting there too as well. So will the rest of you! Think about this one seriously! Seniors that are retired are on a fixed income and barely make it as it is! Help them because we're next in line!
