Schapelle Corby, dying in Bali Jail. Help Bring her Home!
Recently declared insane by an eniment Australian psychiatrist, the Australian Government stands by and does nothing. The Indonesian Courts sentenced this young Australian woman to 20 years for importation of 4.2kg of marijuana. Despite pleading by the defendant to have the drugs DNA tested, her baggage weighed and the bags fingerprinted, the trial went ahead without testing of this crucial evidence. This evidence would have set her free.
She was not given her rights to a fair trial under the laws of Indonesia or by international conventions.
This petition to the Prime Minister of Australia is designed in the hope that diplomatic intervention will help in securing Schapelle Corby's release and return to Australia for proper psychiatric care. The psychiatrist has said that failure of the government to repatriate her will result in her dying in prison in Bali.

Dear Mr. Rudd
We, the undersigned, mandate you to address the incarceration of Ms Schapelle Corby for 20 years in a Bali Jail and the circumstances surrounding her trial.
Whether the young woman was guilty or not, the manner in which the trial was conducted, should have resulted in her immediate release with no conviction recorded against her name.
You would be aware that the defendant was denied the basic right of any court of law, anywhere in the world, to have the evidence tested - in this case, to establish the country in which it was grown.". If that turned out to be Bali it would have meant an automatic dismissal of the charge. Our previous Foreign Minister actually stated that it was possible that the drugs had been placed in her bag in Bali. We heard no further mention of that distinct possibility.
If DNA testing had found that the drugs were from Australia, further testing would have revealed the dna profile of anyone who had handled the product from their hair or dander samples in the package.
You are probably also aware that Ms Corby has a copy of her written statement requesting this testing be done along with fingerprinting of the original plastic bag. Yet these requests were denied by the court and the prosecution.
The AFP was told by the Bali Police that their help was not required. The AFP should have insisted on testing the drugs as an Australian citizen had been accused of exporting drugs from Australia to Indonesia. This would have been a trans national crime requiring a full investigation to establish the complete details. That was never done.
There are many eminent Australian jurors who have declared that Corby would not have been convicted in any court in Australia on the evidence used and the refusal by both the court and the prosecutor to allow DNA and fingerprint testing.
Before this case is brought before the United Nations Human Rights Committee, we urge you to work on a diplomatic solution to bring Ms Corby home a free woman instead of suffering the indignity of existing in the squalor of a third world prison, with no hope of ever becoming a mother and seeing her own children playing happily around her home.
People anywhere in the world with a mental illness need to be cared for in an environment of compassion and calm. A third world jail is no place for this. It would serve the Bali prison service as well as Schapelle Corby better if she was sent home to recieve the care she needs. She has spent more than enough time in this prison.
Bring our Australian girl home for urgent medical necessity.
Shapelle is a beautiful person, the world would be better off with her in it.
Dear MR Rudd I am appauled by the lack of comittment shown by you of the imprisonment of Schaplle. She is an Australian citizen she has been wrongly accused and convicted by a court and a system which dismissed envidence which woul have aquited her. We as Australian citizens have a tradition of being compssionateand have shown to be so. The indonesian government should show the same comassion by releasing Schapelle to the home she deserves. She is no Hisks who betrayed all that we stand for. She deserves the full commitment of the Australian Government to bring her home.

I have just finished reading her book and am ashamed at the governments lack of balls. I holiday with my family in Bali on a regular basis as it is a beautiful place. But it scares me to death that if I or any of my friends got into this situation that our government would simply sit by and watch as our human rights are violated. This is a massive injustice for our government to allow this to happen.
This is a terrible injustice and the Australian government should be ashamed for not helping this poor girl who I still believe was set up. The fact that admissable evidence was destroyed is a travesty of justice. What kind of a country do we live in now?

Please bring Schapelle home, she has suffered enough. The lack of injustice she has endured in regards to no DNA / forensic or fingerprint testing is nothing short of inhumane and did not make for a fair trial whatsoever. The weight of the bag should have been recorded at the airport terminal upon her departure. This should have been compared to the weight of her bag upon arrival in Denpasar on that terrible day. She was denied any fingerprint test (which she and her family begged for) due to the bag apparently 'being handled by too many people to obtain an accurate result' since its discovery. All persons handling the bag should have most definitely been wearing gloves, especially in an international airport where, at the very least, these type of basic security measures should be strictly adhered to, especially when dealing with illegal or forbidden substances / items. This in any other case would be considered as 'tampering with evidence'. Why was she denied these basic human rights in her case? I and many others I know, have vowed to fully boycott Bali and anything associated with it until you Prime Minister, help to bring her home. She will never recover from this extremely cruel and traumatic experience. God Bless her soul and grant her mercy. May the truth prevail before it's too late.

Please bring her home to Australia, even to complete her sentence in an Australian penitentiary where the right and just medical help is available. Had she been the daughter of a politician, or other highly regarded member of the Australian community this would have never happened and Schapelle would be home. Our leaders have shown compassion for previous hate crimes and have apologized to our nations people for a history of wrong doing, it's about time they show some compassion for our citizens in foreign jails and bring them home. I am EXTREMELY against drugs and am disappointed that any Australian is exposed to or using drugs, but this has gone beyond the "conviction" and is threatening the life of a young Australian woman.
