Protection of women and their children from physical, emotional and mental abuse in America requires the court and legal system to act with reasonable care and diligence. The court must align the facts with the best interest of providing protection for women and their children. Unfortunately, there are still systems in place in this country that court orders custody of minor children to abusive, neglectful convicts allowing their mistreatment and endangerment to continue. Such is the case in Douglas County, Castle Rock, Colorado, USA.
Case in point:
Tammy and her daughter, Faith, fled Douglas County, at the advice of acting Magistrate Dumler after suffering months of terror, plus physical and emotional abuse from Faiths father. Tammy was repeatedly raped and physically abused by her estranged husband. Faiths father has been convicted of domestic violence against Tammy. Tammys son, Chad, was recently thrown down stairs at his fathers house and then he kicked both sons out of his house and told them to never return. They called their grandparents for help, with no other safe refuge. The grandparents rescued them and put them on the plane to safety in Belize with their mother, Tammy. There they may find peace and love in their home with their mother, but Douglas County pursues them. They all live in fear that they may be forced back into the abusive custody of their fathers.
Recently, both father%u2019s attempted an illegal snatch and run in Belize with the assistance of Douglas County Sheriffs Department. Fortunately, the Belize government interceded in the attempt to take the children, who are for the time being safe in Belize with their mother. In essence, protecting the children, from the abuse, something our own legal system has been able to provide. The picture shown was taken recently at their mothers home, which she owns in Belize.
But the fight continues, and Douglas County officials have arrested the grandparents who came to the aid of the grandchildren after their terrifying call for help. The grandparents, Susan and Dan are ready to go to jail to protect their daughter and grandchildren. This is their only recourse. They are not the only family in need of protection from this system. Theirs is a sad story, and with help from caring concerned citizens perhaps this story will have a happy ending.
This is just one example of how the system in Douglas County, CO is unwilling to protect women and children. If forced to return, these childrens lives are endangered. We cannot allow this to happen. This story is not so different from many others in this country whose lives are ruined by myopic legal systems such as the one in place in Douglas County, Colorado.
In fact, each year, almost 1 million American children experience abuse and neglect. Of these children, 60 percent suffer neglect, 19 percent physical abuse, 10 percent sexual abuse, a 7 percent emotional maltreatment. All of these forms of abuse can have a lifelong psychological and physical impact on a child. And shockingly, approximately 1400 children are killed each year from abuse, most of who are under the age of one. We must act quickly so that Bryce, Chad and Faith do not become another such statistic of abuse from our inept legal system.
Tammy, her children and parents need our help. All mothers and children suffering the same court ordered persecution need our help. Therefore, I urge you to sign this petition asking all Colorado legislators, and law enforcement agencies, to immediately evaluate the Douglas County law enforcement system. We ask Douglas County to act on common sense with the best interest of these children.
Dear:

We the undersigned urge you to evaluate the legal system in Douglas County, Colorado in reference to legal custody of minor children issues.
Protection of women and their children from physical, emotional and mental abuse in America requires the court and legal system to act with reasonable care and diligence. The court must align the facts with the best interest of providing protection for women and their children. Unfortunately, there are still systems in place in this country that court orders custody of minor children to abusive, neglectful abusers allowing their mistreatment and endangerment to continue. Such is the case in Douglas County, Castle Rock, Colorado, USA.
Case in point:
Tammy and her daughter, Faith, fled Douglas County, at the advice of acting Magistrate Dumler after suffering years of terror, plus physical and emotional abuse from Faiths father. Tammy was repeatedly raped and physically abused by her estranged husband.
Faiths father was convicted for domestic violence against Tammy. They all live in fear that they may be forced back into the abusive custody of their father. Douglas County law enforcement officers, illegally representing themselves as U.S. Marshalls, went to Belize to force the children back to Douglas County.
Fortunately, the Belize government interceded in the attempt to take the children, who are for the time being safe in Belize with their mother. In essence, protecting the children, from the abuse, something our own legal system has been unable to provide.
We urge you to review the child custody and legal system in Douglas County and act with diligence to protect all children from abuse, and endangerment. Far too often children returned to abusive homes to not survive. When they do they are left with lifelong scars emotionally, spirtitually as well as physically. Children should have the right to petition for their custodial parent at age 12; children should never be returned to a home with a parent who is abusive; the system must protect the children above all else.
Thank you for taking the time to read our request. We urge you to evaluate this system and make corrections where they are most needed, advocating protection for minor children's rights and dropping all charges against Dan and Susan Spancers.
