We the undersigned are extremely concerned about the persecution and inability to defend our civil rights when the topic of health and marijuana are brought up.
Texas courts have come to a conclusion about Jeff Hoffman and his right to choose the way he addresses his health concerns, deciding that marijuana makes him unfit and unable to be with his son. Because of financial problems at the time, he was unable to afford a lawyer and chose to represent himself, while moving from Texas to Oregon. None of his appeals were listened to; his letters to the courts went unanswered; all information given to the courts were never acknowledged.
Mr. Hoffman chooses to smoke marijuana (legally, through the State of Oregon) INSTEAD of taking man made drugs that make it impossible for him to have any quality of life.
Because of this SINGLE reason, he has been deemed unfit to be with his son, without being heard through the courts. We need to change these laws.
The war on drugs is understandable. There should be no war on medicine and homeopathic remedies. Changing these laws would help end crime, violence, prison overcrowding, prescription costs, helping with taxes, etc.
Please help us in our fight to let good people live a good life.
We thank you in advance for taking the time out of an already busy schedule in order to listen to us.

no one ever robbed their mama over a little pot. marijuana has saved countless lives and taken none yet it is still illegal. alcohol was once made illegal but the prohibition didn't work and it was made legal again. marijuana is now illegal but this prohibition is very obviously not working either and it should and will be made legal again very soon! |

I am 46, and have been suffering from Systemic Lupus, an autoimmune disease, for 2 years. This disease is very much like Fibromyalgia and Muscular Dystrophy. The only medication which relieves my pain and exhaustion in Marijuana. I have been a regular user of Cannabis since 1978. Now, it is medicine which relieves my pain and sickness. I do not care, nor have I ever cared, that Marijuana is against the law. Hundreds of thousands of other who need this medication do not share my boldness. STOP the persecution of Medical Marijuana patients. We are desparately sick people, in terrible pain, many of us dying, and we simply wish for the State to LEAVE US ALONE! |
